100% You can’t be failing a class and go Ivy.

Have things changed that much since when I was a kid? When I was HS (which was a long time ago) once you got a college acceptance the HS was going to work with you to make sure you went in the fall. I don’t think I turned in a single assignment my last quarter and they still past me - I had friends who skipped so much school that they had to get their cap and gown at graduation and they went to ivies

You don’t say?! I think you mean ‘passed.’

For Ivies you need to maintain a 3.8 GPA after your verbal commitment to "the process"

Ah I get it now they’re juniors.

Whether you like it or not, Landon appears to be very much on the up-swing these days.

The program had a drop off after Bordley retired (at the end of the 2018 season) and on top of that 2 different head coaches in a span of 3 years also didn’t help. With HC instability, a few players transferred out and the external recruiting took a dip.

Current Head Coach, McGettigan (who is an episcopal alum) now at the start of his 4th season at the helm, has the Bears humming. Landon historically is very well coached and pretty athletic. You will always find some impact players on their roster where lax is not their primary sport.

I expect the Bears to be the favorite to repeat in the IAC this year with Bullis being a clear challenger.

Not true above about GPA and the Ivy League. Different teams have different academic index numbers and different players within each class have different tiers with different expectations. Once you commit the coach has already studied your past transcript and future class schedule plus any test scores that you have and will expect you to maintain. In some cases they will tell a player that they need to achieve a certain test score minimum if they have not yet tested but it doesn't benefit anyone to recruit a player that a coach doesn't think will make it through the process.

This is especially true of the service academies. Wait until those classes are winnowed by grades and the requirement to go to Naval Prep.

Next spring at the earliest. Most D3 schools are still focusing on closing out the 2025 class i.e. seniors.

33 D1 commits amongst the top four local clubs and we aren’t even through the November playing period yet. Where is the guy that said that 2026 was going to be a down year? DMV lacrosse is alive and well.

GZ's biggest competition will come from PVI for the next 2 years and not GC. PVI fades away after 2026 because while the new campus is great, it is too far away to draw any depth for lax. SJC and GC's aggressive recruiting will make them the lax powers until their coaches leave.

How many more from those top four clubs you think? Will they get to 60-70%?
Anonymous
Way down compared to 2021 and 2022.

You really think GC is some type of lax power these days?

They aren’t even a regional lax power in the DMV!
