Are you kidding? Make every single lesson every day as fun and interesting as YouTube or a video game. Do you want to give teaching a try? |
Yet Florida with their Maga governor instituted a cell phone ban in schools |
Its better than kids sitting their bored while teachers are doing other things. In English last year instead of a book, they watched a video...There is a huge difference between teachers who teach and put effort into it and then rest. |
Do you have a teen in MCPS? They can use the news, social media, you tube, all kinds of websites. |
I work there. They do find work-arounds which subsequently get blocked. It's whack-a-mole! |
They aren’t blocked. |
Are you listening? Of course you're not, but I'll play. This doesn't happen during "downtime". They walk in glued to their phones, don't put them away, and are on them the entirety of class. It doesn't matter how "fun and interesting" classes/lessons are- they are checked out from the minute they walk in the door. You're obsessed with kids having access to phones during class times and that tells me all I need to know about your intelligence level. |
Even things we want students to research are blocked, but there are new unblocked games every single day. Ask yourself who profits from designing these “free games” your children are hooked on. |
Once Verizon donates a few mill to DeSantis he'll change his tune. |
For the right, it's always been about imposing their values on others. |
The problem is it's not whack a kid. |
r/conspiracy is over there -----> |
Imposing the value of education, so sinister! You can withdraw your kid from school if you are opposed to them getting an education. |
IKR?! Spare the rod and all that. |
The PP is just being realistic. Schools can't effectively ban phones. They lack the means to enforce any such policy so it won't ever happen since all kids got to do is say no you can't have my phone. |
