She can write songs without including verbiage identifying one of her ex’s or specific people.

I am sure that Jake and Joe and Matty etc appreciate your concern.

As for Kim, she probably loves it because she loves any attention.

And I’m sure she’s happier for it.

Adele’s Hello breakup album hits home for me more than Taylor’s, JMO.

Thank you aimme is a good song.
I don’t care if it’s petty. If that what was inspiring, so what?

So are you saying the phenomenon doesn’t exist or would you give it a different term?

The term is fine but everyone seems to want to rush and use it to show they’ve learned it.

Sure. I love Adele. Those two are just so different. I enjoy them both.

I don't think it was petty to her. It was a pretty traumatizing time in her life.

I don’t think anyone attacked Jake until after the breakup and the songs came out. Joe and Matty really got hit with it. What if Joe or Matty really were the one and just couldn’t handle the pressure?

Yes but why bring it up after 8 years?

Except the reason Taylor has had 11 platinum albums and made over a billion dollars is because her songs are akin to reading her diary.
She’s willing to put in details others are not and that’s just one of the many reasons she’s still here.

Kim won’t let it die. She’s too busy posting IG stories with Taylor songs.

Why not? The whole song is about how the second half of her career has essentially been a response to what Kim did to her. It drove her to create and prove herself. She’s acknowledging that in some way having that as motivation is to thank for where she is now.

This thread is honestly annoying. I swear most of you know about 4 Taylor songs total, made your mind up about her back in 2010, and are commenting from a place of total ignorance about her as an artist.

Because someone released the full video that Kim previously edited last year (or maybe in 2022). The new video shows Taylor in a much better light that the one Kim edited. So it all got rehashed again and she wrote a new song.

Joe just seemed to want a quiet life out of the spotlight. I guess he knew however that dating Taylor would mean he would be portrayed as a bad guy if they broke up and her fans would turn on him. By this point anyone who dates her knows there will be a hate track and an angry mob when it ends.

He’s an actor, let’s get real. If he wanted a quiet life, he would be an accountant. He comes from a family of people who have been in the spotlight, although on a lower level and chose to be an actor himself.

Didn’t say it was fake. Said it was trendy to use.
