about the article?

I imagine she is consulting with her lawyer who will dictate exactly what she should say. Which is what beidleman did. Originally he refused to comment on the article, but apparently last minute his lawyer told him to respond with all that “there’s no evidence” bs

McNight needs to go! The director of HR was also a fiasco and had several reports to the Union. What did McKnight do… hire her as her assistant.

We are paying ~400k a year for this cronyism and ineptitude! Jack Smith passed up a pay raise because of the budget constraints with covid

This man is friends with McKnight and the previous director of HR, Dana Edwards. He would always sit in interview panels for leadership positions. Dana also had several complaints of harassment and should have been fired. What did McKnight do? Hire her to work under her in an even higher position.

There is only one way to get human rights back as teachers. Quit. Civil disobedience like Rosa. They will not support us if we treated as the servants of corrupt officials who need " the good data" in order to keep our jobs.

Who wants to work there after this scandal? I would not want my almost college age kids to choose teaching as a career

“I can’t believe this man was once my principal, and now knowing the things he did while I was a student at his school leaves me horrified…”

I would love to hear more what current and former students have to say. Good that they recognize what he did was indeed horrifying.

Would love for Robbins to get in touch with former students and expose him.

Another great story for her would be all the illegal special Ed practices in mcps and the ways teams dont actually implement ieps

I’m a teacher. Of all the reasons I have actively discouraged my children from becoming teachers, this scandal hasn’t even broached the top 10. Sexual harassment is a real problem in MCPS, but there’s also racism, religious bigotry, homophobia, really any kind of hate-based bullying and discrimination you can think of. And that’s on top of ridiculous working conditions.

Yes.

But it’s also interesting and I want to know why he chose his victims.

I was wondering about that too. Maybe he wasn’t all bad but it seems a weird time to praise him.

Did I read here or was it in the article that all his victims were white women?

I had a hunch about the teacher who defended him. I googled her to see if my hunch was correct or not. Oh geez, my hunch was correct. This is such a bad look and will do so much damage to racial progress.

Give it a rest-now is not the time for your racist musings. The guy is the worst, that teacher is a dummy, mcps an absolutely failed institution. See? No need to speculate about race and postulate racial conspiracies there isn’t evidence of.

MCPS makes everything about race. For students, staff and stats.

Take it up with MCPS if you do not want to discuss ‘racist musings’.

DP, so is this the best whataboutism you can come up with?

This guy is black. He preyed on women of multiple races. He was protected by people of multiple races. Many of those people also protected white predators —include those who molested actual children.

So what?

All the principals from the feeder schools attend the high school graduation. It doesn’t mean anything.

eric and joel are good friends. eric minus is Joel's boss and covered up for him. Eric was contacted by the teachers and he blew them off.

Ask people who worked under Minus in the late ‘00s through early-2010s about his conduct.

I'm an MCPS employee and I agree. I hope this scandal helps to expose some of the terrible working conditions teachers have had to deal with, especially women since we are the majority. I hope people will believe us now when we say there are toxic conditions at our workplace.. Schools are a sinking ship. Forbes magazine named MCPS as one of the top places for women to work. What a joke!

This is clearly all McKnight's fault.

Man, this gives all the MCPS principals a bad name. I’d be pissed if I were a MCPS principal who did nothing wrong, and perhaps knew their supervisors were letting this all go down unchallenged. I do wonder however why other principals didn’t speak up. Some must have known. The principals need to bad together to oust the bad actors among them if the higher ups are turning a blind eye.

We waste so much money on putting people on leave! A principal who just retired from Magruder is at Rocking Horse Road Center collecting $$$ until October 2023.
