TT of the TT: Episcopal and 92 Street Y

Then: Temple Emanu-El, Brick Church, Park Children's Day on the UWS (huge connections at Brearley)

Then: STMPG, All Souls, West Side Montessori, Washington Market, Garden House, Christ Church

(But even the third tier of the TT are very TT).

This is correct - signed a consultant/UES parent

Is Episcopal really still in a tier to itself these days? Feels like it’s kind of fallen off a bit lately

If they really had multiple boys with only WL outcomes this year (I only saw this on this site) … it does feel like they could be losing their untouchable status.

Oh wow! Really?! I don’t hear that.

My daughter is currently at Episcopal - going to a TT school next year. Don’t know of a single family that was waitlisted everywhere. People tend to say that when they don’t get their first choice. Generally everyone seems pretty happy.

Would you know if anyone was waitlisted everywhere? I didnt know what happened to kids in the other classes and I didn't care.

From the other thread asking about feeders, someone wrote the following re Episcopal:

“I know two families there. Episcopal is more a feeder school for K-8 boys schools. One of the two families didnt get any offers, only wl...Parents are devastated. They were told this year was extremely competitive...”

Hopefully they are ok now…

WSMS exmissions over the past five years has outpaced all of those on your list. The lower school head of Trinity is on the board of WSMS. There’s a billionaire on the board of 92NY who chose WSMS for their children over any of the others. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I tend to agree that there’s been some reshuffling in the TT and that’s certainly true of WSMS, which has been on the rise of late. But listing PCDS as TT is wild.

How did it go this year? I’ve heard it was terrible from several WSMS families.

All Souls posted their ex missions results to their Instagram. All the TTs represented except Horace Mann.

Six from PCDS (which is a much smaller school).

I've had friends at WSMS who were dying for Trinity, but got blocked out by legacy, faculty kids, siblings, and maybe 1 new unconnected family (usually underrepresented minority). WSMS does well because of the amount of connected families at that school. Also they take more minority kids.

To be fair to WSMS, that’s just how Trinity operates and the same statement could apply anywhere.
