PARCC results: how will they be communicated to families?

Scores are really bad especially for the lower performing schools. It’s sad because these kids will not catch up, especially since DCPS has no viable plan for them to do so.

The achievement gap is probably the largest it has ever been.

However much many of us may disagree about masks, I don't think anyone can disagree with the bolded. Other than press conferences (on Fridays before long weekends to bury the news), Bowser and DCPS have no known plan to remediate. I would say the charter we were at last year also had no plan. It was as if talking about equity and commitment to being anti-racist was itself going to help the kids who so greatly suffered learning loss.

Anonymous wrote:I think the hypocrisy by BASIS haters is laughable. You complain that BASIS has no gym, library or windows and there is no way your child would ever attend. Yet, when the scores come in you cry wolf about how unfair BASIS is because they get all the excellent students from other schools and weed out the weaker students to help boost their scores. And the final act of satire comes when you complain that your little snowflake isn't challenged at Deal/JR and that there are too many fights. I hope the school scores come out soon.

Give it a rest lady. Everyone has moved on.

NP. You must be new to DCUM. The BASIS stuff never ends. PP to whom you replied is not wrong. It's funny to watch people complain both that BASIS is a terrible school that no kid should attend and in the same sentence complain it is peeling kids away from other schools and its scores should have an asterisk.

This is a thread about PARCC.

You must be new here. Every single DCPS/DCPCSB thread it ultimately about BASIS and/or masks.

Indeed.

Great job, "progressives"

So, any word on when we'll get scores? My 5th grader is asking daily at this point, ugh.

That says a great deal about you and our parenting style.

When have you ever taken a 6+ hour test and not been interested in the results?

I agree. The school made such a big deal about it but then no scores. I know it's a crappy test but with the crappy grading system at my kids' school I have no idea how they are doing.
