The current FBI Director was appointed by Trump, served with Kavanaugh in the Bush administration, and was/is a member of the Federalist Society.
It’s absolutely laughable for Republicans to try paint him as some deep-state liberal and shows just how desperate they are. |

That’s a great thread. And put my money on: Trump has been selling the highest state secrets to our enemies. |
If Democrats are committing major felonies, we WANT the FBI to investigate. That's the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans act like enforcing the law on their politicians is some sort of unacceptable political retribution, then turn around and immediately threaten to enact unacceptable political retribution on Democrats. As a staunch liberal, if Democratic politicians are breaking the law, I want them brought to justice! I want EVERY politician breaking the law to be investigated and locked up if found guilty. But here's the thing, for all their bluster about "Democrats do it too!" When Trump was in office and had every opportunity to investigate and prosecute so called "criminals" like Hillary Clinton, they didn't do a thing, because even the Trump-appointed FBI Director knew in reality for all the Republicans' big talk there was absolutely nothing to prosecute. |
You’re going to need to explain that for the “issawitchunt!!” folks. |
The only thing that would surprise me about that is if he was paying enough attention to briefings or docs to even know what the state secrets are. |
Lock her up! Lock her up! I agree with your entire premise. If a Democrat has actually broken the law, investigate. Prosecute. The Democrats want rule of law and the GOP wants law and order, i.e., the fascist rules for thee, not for me. What the GOP numpties on this thread are screaming unawares is their confession. If this were happening to a Democratic ex president, it would be just a political act. They literally cannot conceive of people following the law. |
His brain is turning to mush, but I think he still has his good days and moments of clarity, and he’ll do anything get more money. “Donald, we are looking for information about x… if you can find some information about what your intelligence community is doing about x, we can make it very worth your time.” |
Actually I also found it funny that Trump is the first person who reported that MAL was being raided by FBI. He obviously want everyone in GOP defending him and using that as the measure of their republican-ness for election. In fact yesterday I saw a tweet from one of the RWNJ that it had been several hours and Dr. Oz has not tweeted defending Donald against the FBI raid. SMH! |
Trump got out early to frame it as such. Media repeats his Trump as the victim, yadda yadda. We need to STOP calling it a "raid." The FBI (run by Trump-appointed Wray) executed a court-authorized search warrant (by Trump-appointed judge) pertaining to Trump’s suspected theft of classified information. Words matter. Please, call it an FBI court-authorized search. |
I would imagine he took stuff home that he wasn’t allowed to. |
OMG, what rock have you been living under? Signed, Lawyer for 35+ years who is a lifelong registered Democrat. |
to do that you need a warrant. To get a warrant you have to show reasonable cause. |
or maybe they will obey the law and respect the office. |
This. I know he thinks rules don’t apply to him but I can’t game out in my head why he wouldn’t return the docs. |
