What non political controversial position do you hold?

My non-political opinion: People who start these threads are cowards and just want to give their opinion on something that they are too afraid to bring up in other forums.

ADHD and Alzheimer's/Dementia are way over diagnosed and not always accurate.

And provide evidence of financial viability and stability. Not saying you need to be rich or even middle class. But you need a stable job and a decent apartment that you pay for yourself, and with enough of a buffer to also pay for childcare.

This is a terrifying opinion. The government should be in charge of who can and can’t have children. That’s what you’re saying.

Sorry, I don't want my tax dollars paying into subsidized housing, WIC, subsidized child care, food stamps, heating and cooling, etc. all because some poor lady wanted babies.

apparently, it was a waste of money when it came to you.

OP asked for controversial opions so why argue? Come up with your own.

BTW, I paid for my own college-- no parents/no loans.

Perhaps you should have saved the money since you didn't get the education that was needed. You really think a plumber needs a college education? Or a trash collector? Apparently, those kids shouldn't be born according to you.

I need my phone for directions anywhere beyond my usual stops (grocery, library, bank, post office, etc.).

More importantly, in case of emergency I need my phone. I haven’t had to call AAA often, but when I needed them, I had to have my phone. In case of a serious car accident or medical emergency, I need to be able to call 911. Not to mention, for even a non-serious accident, it’s nice to be able to take pictures of the cars, and taking a picture of the Driver’s license, insurance card, and license plate of the other driver us considerably more efficient than teyong to write it all out by hand while blocking traffic.

You are the reason why kids should have no phones and start to learn how to navigate the way home.

And if a woman decides to get pregnant—it’s really not hard to remove an IUD yourself, I removed mine—then it’s mandatory they have an abortion?

Sick sick people! As bad as the forced birthers. You win this post, that’s for sure.

YOU WIN!!!!

People who start these are miserable and angry individuals who can't bring themselves to say these opinions to anyone in real life because they know they are horrible and would get kicked out of social situations. But they are not smart enough to evaluate why they are such horrible people and why they should change their opinion.

Again, come up with your own. OP asked for controversial opinions.

Kids should be able to play in the park alone without parents hovering from around 8 on.

Can you talk more about the bolded? I thought there was a clear set of behaviors associated with Alzheimer's/dementia, making it easier to diagnose.

OP here. Go back and read the first post. It was meant to be funny and nonsensical and FUN. I had no idea it would take the turns it did. However, it is clear this is the pot calling the kettle black on an anonymous message board. I’m sure glad your wretched life is so incomplete you felt a need to slam anyone here. Does it make you feel better?

That isn't just controversial, it's so ignorant. I have ADHD. Damn, I wished I had been diagnosed in my youth and gotten proper treatment. My life is night/day with treatment.

How do you explain how many more kids have it today? It is SO many more kids and not just because of additional diagnoses. It has to be environmental somehow.

There are as many poor and neglectful parents as there have ever been. You can't explain a change (increased incidence of ADHD) with something that hasn't changed (parenting quality). Science 101.

False. Screens and screentime have increased by orders of magnitude.

And there are many who believe it has negative results, especially for kids.

Researchers found by age 5, children who spent two hours or more per day, looking at screens, were 7.7 times more likely to meet criteria for a diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, than children who watched screens for 30 minutes or less each day.

OVER SEVEN TIMES more likely to show symptoms of ADHD!

What controversial position do you hold?

Rule: It may not be political in any way shape or form.

I will go first, you can dip french fries into a Wendy’s Frosty, but try that at McDonald’s and you should be forced to leave the country.

Also, The Princess Bride is a horrible movie!

Fall is superior to Spring!

I agree with OP that The Princess Bride is a terrible movie.
