Why assume excited players are actually coaches posting here? If you were a parent of a player that tried out you would know the ID sessions were packed with top players who are interested and excited to be apart of FVU. It's not surprising that selected players are excited. Good for parents above posting positive perspectives instead of the crap others are bringing. Good luck to all whether you receive an offer or not. |
I love comments like this. Have you actually watched a women's game compared to a men's game? If not, you should do so before making stupid comments. Women's soccer in the US has a clear pathway with more options, but I'm going to pretend like it's at the same level. An average team in any age group slaughters the top girls team in that same age group. End of story, so let's sum it up like this. It's easier for the girls side to do well because the boys side is just harder competition. |
Nada here as well. |
This is true. |
I love comments like this.[b]” Glad you loved my comment! Your comment is beyond dumb.” Have you actually watched a women's game compared to a men's game?” I have watched and played plenty of soccer in my life”. If not, you should do so before making stupid comments. Women's soccer in the US has a clear pathway with more options, but I'm going to pretend like it's at the same level ” Don’t pretend they are not! The US Women have won four world titles!. An average team in any age group slaughters the top girls team in that same age group.” No s**t boys are way stronger than girls” End of story, so let's sum it up like this. It's easier for the girls side to do well because the boys side is just harder competition. ”Absolutely not, the Union girls teams have done better, because they have better talent period. If you don’t believe me check the standings” |
this comment is baffling to me. Are you saying the Union boys would beat Union girls in a match, and that's why the PP comment was stupid? If so, there's a tremendous amount of irony it. Yes, the women's game is different than the men's game. I think it's pretty settled. Nobody ever argues boys vs. girls. The point was Union girls are competitive (against girls) and the Union boys are not (against boys). I can't believe anyone would need the parentheticals. After that, it sure sounds like you're whining that boys soccer is hard. |
Exactly. Aside from extremely rare issues I’m not opening a can of worm on here, boys play boys and girls play girls. Each has college teams. Each has pro paths. Each has national teams. FVU boys will compete against ECNL boys and FVU girls will compete against ECNL girls. You could actually argue the boys have it easier, comparatively speaking, since all the top teams are MLS Next. When you compare apples to apples …. In your logic, Serena Williams just isn’t that good because many pro men’s players good have beaten her. And Caitlin Clark is garbage because she wouldn’t even start on a major men’s college basketball team. Marta, she’s terrible because she couldn’t have started on Brazil’s men’s team. Sexist much? Your logic would minimize all female sports accomplishments that men also play. |
So players that got offered SYC 2nd team would prefer to stay in FVU 1st team? What are pros and cons about that? |
So players got offered SYC 2nd team vs FVU 1st team? I'd stay with the FVU. At least competition during training will be better than SYC 2nd team. That's an insult if that happened. |
Show us examples of where the bolded happened |
Cmon thats not happening, trolls 🧌
First team vs First team offers are what we are talking about. And anyone who wanted another option went out and found it at the 4 clubs already listed. Only individual families can confirm where they will commit in the end. It’s only March, so long way to go. |
I'll take "things that never happened for $500 please" |
I suppose… but I could see SYC 2nd teams being more competitive than FVU at some age groups. It would be tough to choose a 1st team (ECNL) vs a possible stronger 2nd team (National Academy) |
Question, does anyone know how many players is FVU having per team? I would guess it depends on the age group? I heard from 18 to 25.
Also, when will FVU disclose rosters? Or is this something one could ask? to get an idea of how the team is shaping up. |
This situation is common across all clubs at this time of year. You can only cobble together a roster based on people sharing what they know. Most people never know the full picture until the first summer practices. |
