DS has 28 in his 1st grade class. Is this the norm for FCPS? I'm disillusioned with this among other things. Upper grades have some classes of 30.
BLERGH |
| Ours has 22. |
| I think they'll go to 32 before they add a teacher to the grade. |
| My son's school has 28 in his KG class with possibly another child joining the classroom to make it 29. |
| 25 in ours. |
| 23 for ours this year |
| 21 |
| My son is in 3rd grad now, but his first grade class had 27 initially and went up to 28. Yes, it's normal for FCPS. One 6th grade class at our school ended the year in June with 32. |
| 18 in ours. |
|
APS- my son had 14 last year.
Now he has 19 in 2nd. |
| 24 |
| 23, DS in 2nd has 31!!! |
| Again, how does FCPS get away with these class sizes? They seem to go against state rules. |
| Are the schools with smaller class sizes Title I schools? |
It's the formula that's used. Sometimes special education students don't count as a full student and its not just one grade level that is figured. All grade 1-6 are used. |
