A friend of a friend of a friend made this connection and finally I get to have lunch with the HR person with one of the largest International Organizations.
This is an opportunity I have wanted in a long time but I am now nervous. What kinds of subjects besides just work and resumes do people bring up in these lunch meetings?(this is my first lunch meeting with a potential) Also is it appropriate to bring my resume to our first meeting? What is the best way to make a long lasting impression here? Any words of advise from anyone in HR or anyone with the same experience. Thanks in advance |

Bring your resume but do not offer it unless asked. Keep it straight/flat - never fold a resume.
Read three major news sources that morning so you are up on everything going on in the world. Figure out how at least two of these things affect this company. Have good questions to ask about the company. |

Order something easy to eat at lunch. No spaghetti with red sauce and meatballs that could go flying. No finger foods either like a hamburger and french fries.
Good luck |
| If you have some unusual skills, like juggling, this would be an opportunity to demonstrate them. |
OP- do not listen to this pp! |

If you can juggle, don't juggle meatballs.
Also, eat before you go so you're not actually hungry, and then order soup or something you can just nibble at and then swallow easily and COMPLETELY so you can talk without ANY food in your mouth. Definitely research the company and ask really good questions. An hour's lunch will feel like a month if you run out of things to talk about. |
| Dress up like you are going to an interview with this person. |
you are so boring. |
Since Fall is almost here you can wear a grey or blue suit.I would stay away from Black. |
you are worse

| If you could juggle meatballs, I would hire you on the spot!! |
No- I am not a moron who is going to lose a job opportunity for juggling in front of an HR rep. You on the other hand.... |
If you are talking about the IMF or World bank, treat it like an interview. Bring resume, ant papers you have published, knowledge about the institution with you and prepare to impress. |
buti can juggle even meatballs |
Thanks every one that gave useful advice.Yes! I am actually talking about The IMF so this is so exciting for me since it' s so long over due. Wish me luck! |
