Georgetown restaurant

Aunt and Uncle are coming into town and staying in Georgetown and offered to take us to dinner. I'd like to go somewhere quiet, nice but not $$$$, and good, but having a hard time coming up with ideas!

I was thinking about Jardenea (but it looks like it's in a hotel and might not have that Georgetown feel) and Unum (but looks loud).

Any other ideas? I think probably American/Italian would be best since I don't know what they like to eat, but open to other suggestions. Thanks!

I work in Georgetown (Washington Harbour waterfront). Farmers Fishers Bakers in the harbour is really nice, and really inexpensive for Georgetown. Great food too. You can get 3 cheeseburger sliders and fries for $6.00. They have this really awesome fried brusselsprout and blue cheese salad too. They also make wonderful gourmet pizza.

Sequoia is $$, not $$$$ as you specified! It also has a nice view of the harbor and the food is pretty good. Not too loud. It's a large space but the acoustics are good so there's no annoying din of noise. I was going to suggest other places, but they are super loud as are most restaurants in Georgetown.

OP, I'd suggest that you walk a little out of Georgetown and check out Blue Duck Tavern or Rasika West End. Perhaps a little pricier than you had in mind, but the food in Georgetown, quite frankly, sucks.

(Sequioa?? Farmers Fishers??? Are you people nuts? Mediocre and overpriced.)

I just went to Blue Duck Tavern last week. It isn't cheap but it was a really nice dinner.

Bistrot Lepic. Downstairs.

It's quaint, great food and won't break the bank.

The food is terrible.

Agree. Food at Sequoia is really bad.

That's right - and isn't it supposed to be a classic Georgetown neighborhood restaurant?

Why are there no great restaurants in Georgetown? So annoying.

La chaumiere is really good, classic French. Bistro lepic is hardly Georgetown and could be quite a hike. Il canale is good, simple Italian. 1789 is romantic and maybe too expensive? Bandolero is good, but noisy.

1789. Very Georgetown.
