Do you sell them if they're in good shape? Do you get them taken in? Replacing an entire wardrobe is so expensive, but not sure what to do!

How much did you lose? Sometimes having clothes taken in costs more than buying new.
Congrats on the weight loss |
| Keep 'em. There is a high probability you'll gain all the weight back. If not, give them away to a big boned friend or neighbor. |

The same thing I'm going to do with my whole shoe wardrobe now that I've come to the realization that I will never fit into it again - consign the designer stuff, donate the rest.
Thanks pregnancy #2. |
| Save them because I'll probably gain it back at some point! |
|
Depends on how much you invested in them in the first place. If you have a number of very high quality pieces either have them altered or sell if you have lost significant weight. Congrats!

+1! Help another woman to a fresh start. |
| I've donated most of it. I altered only a few things- whether it's worth it depends on the quality of the item and how much you've lost. I lost 2 sizes but most stuff just wasn't alterable. I kept one small box in the attic of really nice stuff, just in case. Luckily it's been over a year so I hope to never need that box. I found it motivating to get rid of stuff. And better to not have tons of fat clothes as a back up - it seems like admitting defeat before you've started. |
| Consignment shop for the nicer stuff, otherwise I donated it. |
| Keep it for when you gain the weight back. |
Not to be a pessimist, but clean them and put them in a storage box for a year. Then decide. |
| I lost 130lbs and donated everything to Goodwill that wasn't worn out or stained. Luckily, most of my clothes were inexpensive, I'm a nanny so don't need expensive work clothes. Felt good to donate to others in need and felt even better to get rid of all my old huge clothes. Don't hang on to your larger clothes, you no longer need them. If you feel your new clothes getting a little snug you just know it's time to step it up and start eating a little better. |

I lost a good amount of weight...I went from an 8/10 to a 2/4. I had all my favorite pieces of clothing altered. I was super happy with them all. I had one or two blazers that didn't turn out well, everything else did. I gave away other stuff that wasn't worth it. I kept a few pieces just in case.
FYI I waited about 6 months of keeping the weight off before I got my clothes altered to make sure it wasn't coming back. |

It was really annoying because I went from a 14 to a 4. It took about 18 months too! I would wear clothes as long as I could and then break down and buy some that were a little too tight. I probably worked myself from a 14, 10, 6 and then was not expecting to make it into a 4, so this is a bonus.
I have held onto my 6's, but donated everything else. No way in hell will I ever be bigger than a 6 unless I become paralyzed. |
