Crickets from the right on that Washington Post piece. |
I’ve just gotten to the Donell Harvin part. It’s horrifying. It’s not like it wasn’t clear that day that it was horrifying, but seeing so much more evidence laid out… I don’t get it. Have so many Republican extremists infiltrated all those agencies? Was it just Trump appointees at the top that choked an appropriate response? Or are those agencies that incompetent? Even in this piece, they’re focused on the GOP’s take on it. Why not ask any of the Democratic lawmakers who were at risk that day? |

Well, sh**. We’ve got marching orders, bois. TheDonald.win ButtFart88 He can’t exactly openly tell you to revolt. This is closest he’ll ever get. Listropoe Then bring the guns we shall.” From that article, Republicans heeding Donald Trump’s words as marching orders to commit violence. |
If they read it, there is a chance that they will understand that they are on the side of evil, that they are supporting fascism, that what their side did and is doing is a slow-motion coup attempt. They won’t read it. |
DP still working my way through this article. It’s amazing that after all this time even Trump’s own staff STILL didn’t take him literally or seriously. “Still, many White House and campaign aides did not view Jan. 6 as a critical day and were not worried about violence. The goal of Trump’s tweet in which he said Jan. 6 would “be wild,” they believed, was simply to attract a big crowd to give the television cameras a counternarrative to the coverage of the Capitol that day. One senior administration official said he only realized how much Trump’s focus on Jan. 6 was activating his supporters when his mother, who lives in a Southern state, told him in late December that her friends were coming by bus. “A lot of people from the church are going to D.C. on January 6 — are you going to be there?” she asked him.” |
I had previously assumed that White House political employees were some fairly smart cookies, whether or not I agreed with them, but yeah. The Trumpenvolk have shown that they are dangerously stupid people. |
Which is it Lindsay? Can't have it both ways without being called out for it. |
Here’s another good summary of the giant Post investigation:

Wow that was overwhelming. I'm guessing this will get a Pulitzer. I guess we already knew a lot of it, it's just good to see it organized, with pictures, and sound bytes. Some organizers need to start going to jail or Garland needs to resign. ![]() |
Garland, Wray, a couple dozen other people… They really are not treating this with anything approaching the massive dumpster fire that this is. Garland is sleeping on the prosecution but Wray slept on event itself (just like he has for a dozen other massive failures under his watch; that man has no business anywhere near law enforcement). |
