HOW DO PLEA BARGAINS WORK?
Plea bargains in Virginia usually work in one of these three ways:

1. In a “sentencing” arrangement, a defendant pleads guilty or no contest to a charge in exchange for a reduced or alternative sentence.

2. In a “charge” arrangement, a defendant pleads guilty to a lesser charge, and the original greater charge is dropped. For example, a first-time DUI offender may be offered a dismissal of the DUI charge in exchange for a guilty plea to a reckless driving charge.

3. In a “count” arrangement, a defendant pleads guilty to one or more charges, and in exchange, the court will dismiss any other charges.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at.

Are you intentionally being difficult?

Juliana admitted to shooting the fatal bullet after JR Had already been immobilized by a shot to the eye from Brendan Banfield. She is not innocent, and should have taken a plea but is young and dumb.

DP here. I’m not saying anything about her being innocent of anything. In the linked article above it states she shot the weapon towards JR who was on the ground and didn’t know if it hit him.
We do also know it did hit him but it was also stated that both shots were fatal and it couldn’t be determined which one actually ended up killing him. Juliana is in jail awaiting trial because she is the one who spoke to police. Even the judge stated that.

At the hearings, more details came out. More than in the article. Joe had been shot in the eye by BB. A second bullet entered the chest.

Was the medical examiner able to determine which of the fatal bullet wounds were in fact the one that caused him to die? As far as I understood the document, either could have been the fatal shot?

Meant to say that I swear it was quoted that basically the kill shot couldn’t be determined because both were fatal. It was the fact that JR was already mortally wounded and shot again while on the floor the Nanny is in jail and BB is walking free.

There has been no cross examining of the medical examiner. It was just a display of facts. I wouldn’t use the word mortally as you did, but he was incapacitated so the fact that she shot him while incapacitated warrants second-degree murder. It was not self defense.

Wonder if JPM is feeling as devoted?

How is her lawyer, paid for by BB, advising her NOT to accept a plea, not a conflict of interest?

How do we know her lawyer is advising her not to take a plea deal?

See post above about case going to trial at end of July.

Had she taken a plea that would not be proceeding.

She was offered a plea deal for "time served" if she changed her story (and turned on BB) sometime back in January. The fact that she didn't take it is crazy.

He could be heard moaning in the 911 call so he was already gravely wounded, and in her words, on the floor, when she shot him.

+1

And forensic showed the first shot was to the eye, which would incapacitate someone.

If BB was truly still concerned about anyone’s safety in that house after JR was shot (eg was shooting in self-defense), he would’ve just shot him a second time since there were more bullets in bbs gun. But the fact that he told the Au Pair to go get the gun out of a different room safe and take time to enter the combination and come back AND Have time to shoot him again is very very suspect.

Of course not, the AP's trial isn't starting until the end of July.

Details are not going to be made public in the media. Come on.

The poster could be spit balling or one of our "insider" posters who is close to the case or who attended the most recent hearings where it may have been mentioned.

But still the PP is making a rather bold claim and offers no supporting evidence. I don't doubt that something like a rejected plea deal may have happened but that it was done so and "for time served" but to claim so warrants the poster to provide a degree of background as to how he/she came upon that info.

Nope

This is from a page here on April 1st. I took a screenshot.

“ Several witnesses were called.
1- Friend of JR who identified the body
2- Fire captain who arrived on scene.
3- Morgue doctor
- Confirmed two gunshots,
- (First shot) one in the right eye, which was considered "rapidly fatal"
- (Second shot) One in the chest which also hit the heart
- Both shots were considered rapidly fatal
- There was probability that JR could move and see after the first shot,
4- Major Crimes Detective
- Did an 8 hour interview with AP immediately after the shooting
- Only went to house 8 mos after the incident during arrest
- AP told him that she had shot JR
