Private & Independent Schools
| Or will they sail in without formal test scores and class visits and all the associated stressors? |
Surely you jest!
|
| Oh please, are you kidding? There will be no test scores and no "playdates." You don't even need to ask that question. |
| Depends, I guess. What's the norm for mid-year transfers from one elite private school to another? My sense is that there's a network of private schools nationwide that try to help each other out when parental job changes uproot families during the school year. |
| I really don't care. They are the president's children. They are already at a top school. They have smart, accomplished parents who are heavily invested in their education and are therefore likely to be smart and accomplished themselves. Did I mention they are the president's children? Does anyone really care? |
| No. They will not go through the same process as other children. |
You know how teachers used to say "There's no such thing as a dumb question"? They were apparently wrong. |
| The naivete - and accompanying sense of indignation - expressed on this board continually amuse me. |
| These are not normal kids. They are from another planet |
| So is this fair? |
| Not even a visit so MICHELLE can see how her FIRST KIDS like the school? I'd insist. |
| No, why should they? Yes, it is fair. Some kids have regular parents, and some kids have the President-elect as a dad. |
This is what I mean about the naivete. What does "fair" have to do with private school admissions anywhere? Very little. |
| OP, don't you get it? It's the SCHOOLS that are being given the tests to see if they are "good enough" for the girls. |
They are the president elect children. They will go where their parents want to send them - no test no visit, no stressors. On or about January 20, a new desk will show up in a classroom and the kids will follow. Like everyone else, I am shocked that you even asked the question. |
