SA is now IA. He knows soccer and is coaching the kids on all the right things. Embraces the international approach to soccer so he doesnt do the US, Play, practice, play, which I appreciate. He has a lot of ambition for the club and does not always achieve his objectives, but he is trying. His biggest challenge is communications with player and parent. He will engage when you go out of the way to extract information, but you need to change your expectations for how he operates vs expecting him to tailor his communications to the player or parent needs. Most coaches seem to struggle with communications so this may be par for the course.

He’s great w/kids. Knows the game and very straight forward w/parents. Able to coach fundamentals when needed to bring older kids up to the rest of the team.

The tryout email only listed the head coaches (not sure who these people are, i guess they coach the first teams). I don't want to ask our coach who is coaching next year.

There is no such list. It hasn’t been posted yet anywhere. It is a little weird because previous years they have posted full list of coaches, even if it was only a few days before the first tryout. I would email the director of coaching for whichever gender you’re interested in and ask them when they will be sharing that information. You could mention that you will not be bringing your child to tryouts if you don’t know who the coach will be. Not sure if they will care, but worth a try.

Likely due to either not having a coach or the person they hired is coaching elsewhere and cannot announce yet.

Safe to assume the hires they have made are inferior. If they were great, they would be posted already esp since tryouts have already begun!

That theory has been debunked. Last year, Valor announced multiple coaches weeks before tryouts who were still employed at GFR and elsewhere.

There is an S. A. who is an older boys coach. The poster was probably asking about that coach.

Anyone think it is weird that someone posted for a review of "SA" and then mere minutes later someone replied about another coach "IA" and about how amazing he was, and then supposedly another parent chimed in one minute later with even more compliments? I find that strange.

"IA" the coach they are gushing about, only coaches two U-little teams. So two different parents out of maybe 24 families total just happened to be on here mere minutes after the request for information? Fishy.

Its just more clunky Valor boostering from their hapless social media guy. Try spacing your posts our a little more, man and throwing in a few negatives as well.

If Valor reps were really on here, wouldn't we at least have an answer for if the 2015 lead coach has a daughter playing on the team he coaches?

OK, if anyone finds out whether KO is coaching his own kid or not, could you please post back? There is a competing tryout elsewhere the first night so we might skip Valor's first night while waiting to hear whether its a waste of time or not.

Yes. If he did NOT have a daughter on the team, they would have posted that ASAP to clear up the negative rumor. Since they are *crickets*. its probably true

If this is the guy who went by "Stevie A__" at Great Falls and then changed his name to something else at Valor, lots of GFR parents posted negative reviews on him last year. Do a search on this forum for his name "Stevie".

Or... they don't really lurk here. This whole rumor started because someone commented that he is a good communicator because he has kids. I sure hope that person who provided the initial feedback chimes in. But if for some chance Valor is actually reading this when you come out with the full coaching slate there should be an asterisk next to every coach that has one of their own kids on a team they coach.
