Carderock is not an area that has 2 bedroom rentals. The homes are much larger. Go the Coop on MacArthur & Seven Locks and post a notice. Perhaps you can rent a portion of someone's home.

Try looking for rentals in cabin John. Can't recall the zip code right off. There are smaller houses available for rent no casino.

This is a great suggestion. I'm not sure I'd go with the Cabin John advice, as I'm pretty sure those homes don't feed into Carderock.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone.
I drove past the school again yesterday and I couldn't help but drool and I have heard so many wonderful things about the school.

I dropped my ad already but I am still waiting to hear from the listserv's moderator.
I am looking for anyone there who will be willing to rent out their basement.
I will be checking out 20818 today, hopefully that will feed into Carderock.

20818 does not feed into carderock.
20817 (Bethesda) and 20854 (Potomac) feed into it. Unfortunately, those zipcodes are more expensive than 20818. Focus your search on the n'hood right near the school, Carderock Springs itself. It is less expensive than the other feeder n'hoods. Good luck, this school is a gem!

OP, Carderock is a great school and I'm sure it is really special. But it isn't the only great school. I would expand your search to look at all of the schools in 20854. Bells Mill, Seven Locks and Beverly Farms have all recently been rebuilt. Wayside is a great school (used to live in the area). Good luck!
