| We are moving from Fairfax to McLean and looking for some suggestions in choosing the AAP School. My DC is selected in full time AAP program from this September. Any input is appreciated. Thanks! |
They are both big schools with big AAP programs. Haycock is undergoing a multi-year renovation starting this summer, so go with Churchill if you don't want to deal with that. If you want to be closer to DC or Metro, the schools that feed into Haycock AAP are closer to DC and Metro, except for the area assigned to Kent Gardens, which is near Haycock but sends its AAP kids to Churchill. |
| Churchill, but be prepared for very large classes. |
| Both are overcrowded. Churchill less than Haycock. I am partial to Churchill Road over Haycock, but McLean over Langely. That would put you in Kent Gardens District. |
| I'd post this in the AAP forum. |

Thank you all.
Great school rating is lower to Churchill. I wonder why? guessing-May be because of the math program. But could be some other factors that brings it down. |

Churchill
The Haycock renovation is going to be a nasty process |
| Haycock. Closer to both the West Falls Church Metro and Taco Bamba. |
| This needs to be on the AAP forum. |
| Churchill |
+1 |
| OP, where do you want to live? what is your work commute? What MS and HS do you want? These are more important decisions than deciding between top AAP programs. |
|
We both work in DC and some time take metro/car.
I don't know how to move this topic on the AAP
About MS school: both Haycock and Churchill students go to Longfellow and as of today it has rating of 10 on great school. I don't see much difference in the rating between Mclean HS and Langley. Both are at 9. Who knows it will stay the same in the future. But I guess we should think on that side as well... parenthood is fun Please share your experience about both HS. It would be helpful to most of the parents.

| I think it's already under AAP. |
Yes, Jeff moved it based on at least one earlier request submitted via the "report" button. |
