An extra few thousand a month....

Wondering how much difference to your life the following would make? This is assuming its on TOP of what you are already making?

$1000 a month?
$2000 a month?
$3000 a month?

It would increase our income by
$1000/month
$2000/month
$3000/month

-- what are you getting at?

Yes sorry if I was unclear.

All extra amounts sound great!

I wouldn't notice one grand.
three would make a difference.

I would notice any extra amount but I'm super frugal and don't spend unnecessarily.

I'll play - we already live below our means and have no kids or debt.

$1k - I'd plan a vacation and a date night once a month for a $150 dinner instead of a $50 with a Groupon dinner.
$2k - I'd see if DH wanted to get a 2nd car - and 2nd parking spot.
$3k - I'd hire a house keeper / assistant to do laundry, prep food, shopping errands, light cleaning, make appointments and reservations, take the car in for service, etc.

1k means kids get healthy college savings
2k means we move to a SFH in a few years
3k means you've doubled my salary- much fewer worries, can help support terminally ill sibling

We have some savings, but are currently living hand-to-mouth. I notice if my bank account goes up even $100 for the month, it takes away a lot of stress. $1000 extra per month, I would use to get ahead in my finances. My dream right now is to live the same lifestyle we're living, but not stress about it.

$1000 - would feel like we could 'afford' another child
$2000 - nicer home/healthier savings
$3000 - I wouldn't worry about money.
Anonymous
$1,000 a month - I'd plan a weekly date night without worrying about it
$2,000 a month - I'd seriously consider a proper remodel at that point; $100,000 loan is $650 a month
$3,000 a month - I'd feel much much more comfortable overall with our financial position

I am assuming this is post tax and donations.

$1k a month more means I can go back to having milk delivered and shopping at the Farmer's Market (~2,000). Hire back the every other week cleaner (~2500) and hire the 20 something down the street who is trying to start a lawn care business(~1,500). And we can afford to go on a real vacation for spring break (~2,000). Put any leftover into savings (~2,000).

$2k all of the above and putting more into savings and saving for house stuff

$3k means all of the above and adding the following as we have the money: geothermal A/C/heating, redo patio, add solar to roof.

1K a month would make therapies and costly evaluations for my special needs DS possible. It would make a HUGE difference!

2k would help fund my children's college accounts and my retirement.

3k - finally, real vacations!
