1K Hire a part time nanny for my 1yo till she goes to pre school

2K Have my 5yo staying in her great Montessorri school till she finishes elementary and have my 1yo going there at the same time in the future.

3K Buying a house. I'm sick of moving and renting.

2k would help fund my children's college accounts and my retirement.

3k - finally, real vacations!

I'm sending all the good vibes I can your way. I just found your post very touching and humbling since it reminded me of how lucky I am.

$3000 - I wouldn't worry about money.

Yeah, pretty much this! $1,000 means no more hemming and hawing about when to have our next child.

$2,000 to $3,000 means boosting savings in all categories, home repair/renovation plans, travel plans...and giving more to charity than we do now.

$1,000 - home repairs / upgrades could happen this year
$2,000 - above plus emergency fund, max retirement, max college savings
$3,000 - above plus a vacation and a new car

any amount would help pay down my mortgage

$1000 save

$2000 save $1500, $500 to help the kids

$3000 save $2000, $1000 to help the kids

Then I can die and the kids can have what I saved plus my car. Then their father can leave them the house and what he has saved.

I would need several, much bigger safes.

Once we stopped paying $2800 a month in childcare, we split the extra money between paying down our mortgage and putting more money away for the kids' college funds.

1K - get a parking spot
2K - get a parking spot and have more date nights, put away more money for vacations.
3K - get a part time housekeeper or a second part time nanny to come in for half day.

Realizing how incredibly fortunate i am. None of it would make any difference.

$1,000/month extra would be awesome. We would definitely notice that. I'd plan a vacation with my kid, and consider getting rid of my 10-year-old car a year earlier than planned before any more expensive repairs were needed.

$2,000/month would go toward my kid's college fund, plus I'd start renovating my bathrooms.

$3,000/month - I'd save more for retirement, plus the above stuff. dude, that would be awesome. I net a little more than $4K a month (after FSA, 401K, etc.) so that would be a substantial change.

$1,000 one escort a week
$2,000 two escorts a week
$3,000 three escorts a week

In several years, when both of our kids are in public elementary school will will have an extra $2k a month. Yeah!! We pay $3k in daycare now and I'm assuming we'll still pay a little for aftercare and camps. I can't be the only one in the same boat!!

$1000 - add to college savings and build emergency fund
$2000 - build savings account and investment account outside the 401k/Roth
$3000 - all of the above, plus annual 2 week vacations overseas.

Happily, I am paying $2,000 a month on my student loans, which will be paid off in 13 months, so this will hopefully become my reality next year ...
