I live in a high rise condo. WTF is wrong with dog owners?

Today, for example, a woman got on a fairly crowded elevator with her yappy dog on a leash. The dog runs in the elevator and licks my leg, then starts barking furiously at everyone. After a few floors of this the woman finally picked him up and shushed him.

What if I was allergic to dogs? I think it is so gross and rude when dog owners do not hold the leash tightly enough to keep dogs out of other peoples space.

Recently, I ran into a dog owner in my condo building that specifically "is it ok? I can wait for the next one" upon getting in the elevator. Her dog was also very well trained and knew not to harass other people. I was amazed. I've never encountered a dog owner as thoughtful and respectful as her, in my entire life.

I don't mind dogs, but unfortunately most dog owners are selfish and entitled. They don't stop to think that other people's worlds don't revolve around their misbehaved pets.
