I feel for this women - she was plucked from "mainland" obscurity for a position that was a reach for her qualifications wise, and is now being blamed for the fall of the republican party. Palin was chosen for her style and NOT because she is a DC policy wonk...

While I guess I can sympathize a bit (and I'm stretching), a governor should at least know her continents. And if she was chosen for her style, you're right in that she's not to blame for the fall of the party. The party - McCain - is to blame for picking her! He was the cause of his downfall.

She didn't blink.
Though she did bling.

And the only quotes with attribution are from a McCain advisor named Scheunemann who takes issue with the reports. Is everyone else afraid of her? Why won't they talk on the record?

I think Michelle better watch out - she is the next one to be sliced and diced. Clothes are just the start... why does the press feel the need to trash strong women?

Her degree is from the University of Idaho. More like the potato league than the ivy league.

Why is everyone still talking about Palin? She's not relevant now. Move on. Don't dance on her grave; it's the opposite of what Obama want, not to mention Jesus.

Yep!!! Let's move on. Palin is in Alaska returning to her hockey mom job.

I guess it's just hard to ignore that a VP candidate doesn't have elementary geographical knowledge. but yes, let's move on!

Well, gee. You're basing this assumption on "unnamed sources" within the McCain campaign who have every reason to scapegoat Palin. But the primary one is that it deflects blame from what everyone knows was a poorly run campaign. In the meantime, our vice-president elect, whom I voted for, said FDR was president at the start of the Great Depression and he "went on TV" to talk to the nation about it. No "unnamed sources" in that one. But it's okay that he lacks essential American history knowledge, I guess, because he's a Democrat.

I agree with the PPs who say we should move on. Sarah Palin is old news.

I think the fear is that she is not gone for good. I think that is why the McCain operatives are trying to take her down, because they don't want her becoming the party's standard bearer.

Of course, the McCain campaign can't really blame her for the loss. It's a bit unfair to blame McCain at all for the loss, given the state of the economy and two wars. But to the extent that Palin was a problem, it's not Palin's fault that she is being herself. Rather, it is McCain's fault that he picked someone who had not been vetted either by the national press or really by his own team.

Wow - that is an elitist comment! So are the only capable politicians the ones who go to the Ivy's?

Yes, that's clearly exactly what I was saying. What excellent powers of deduction you have. You must have an Ivy league eduction just like Palin's.
