Today, one of my DIE-HARD pro-McCain neighbors

Anonymous
took down his THREE McCain/Palin signs (that he literally nailed to the tops of trees) and replaced them with an Obama/Biden sign!

Now THAT'S progress!
Anonymous
I wouldn't say "THAT'S PROGRESS" as much as I would say that he is being supportive.

For this guy, being supportive IS progress.

I don't get it. What made him change his mind AFTER the election?

That's really nice to read. Maybe Obama really can unite this country. Maybe people were truly moved by that speech and the outpouring of emotion that greeted the news of Obama's election.
Anonymous
For some people "Country First" is more than just a slogan. My President, right or wrong!
Anonymous
Maybe he is afraid of Obama supporters.

I don't know! And I think people are actually afraid to ask. But I will admit that it's sincere.

I'm laughing at this one. I doubt anyone in our neighborhood is going to try to do him harm. In all sincerity, the guy's really nice. He waited YEARS before he could find a home in our neighborhood - knowing fully well that it's filled with liberals. At this point, he may even be a bigger person than many of my die-hard liberal pals!

UPDATE:

The guy told us he "pushed the Button" for Obama in the booth!

Did he tell you anything more about why the McCain signs? Did he start out supporting McCain and change his mind? Or did he have them up for other reasons? Or do you think he is lying about voting for Obama? Sounds like an interesting story!

I know nothing other than the fact that he pushed the button for Obama and proudly (b/c it's in a place for all to see) put up his sign for Obama. I do believe, yes, he was in support of McCain up until he hit the booth! It just goes to show you how interesting voting your conscience is! He definitely did not lie; that much I know. In the past, he often "got into it" over politics with other neighbors - pushing his very conservative views.

Fascinating story.

Indeed. The thing is, we have no way of know if he is telling the truth about his vote - not that it matters anymore.

I know -- but even if he is lying, it's a fascinating story! Imagine feeling like you had to go through all that for whatever reason....
