Breonna Taylor: Grand Jury

There was a leaked document about the case. Breonna Taylor’s apartment and car were on the swatch warrant. The cops had surveillance of her packages being sent to her house. Breonna and a bunch of Jamarcus Glovers associates are on jail house recordings talking about drugs. Breonna was holding money to bail him out.

Breonna was also not an EMT. She was fired after she was questioned for her rental car being linked to a homicide when they found a dead body in the trunk. The man who died was the brother of one of Jamarcus Glovers associates.

The search warrant was lawful. Some of you don’t understand what it takes to get a warrant with a “ no knock” exception. It takes a lot of evidence to get one.

I think the police made some mistakes. They should have not knocked. Jamarcus Glover and like 5 other people at his house were hit with a “no knock” warrant ( they had 5 warrants for Jamarcus Glover, Breonna Taylor, and 3 other people) and none of them got hurt. I thiould be alive today if they had not knocked. They didn’t find any drugs but the officers were caring for the officer who was shot. Nathaniel Walker was alone in the house and could have did something with the drugs.

The other thing people fail to realize is the state will pay out regardless if the officers were justified or wrong. Paying her family out doesn’t mean the officers did anything wrong.

I haven’t read these details. Interesting. Thanks for the update.

Good recap, but the problem is the process and the approach. First, unless there is imminent danger to a person inside a domicile, there should never be a no knock warrant issued. That should be the law (I know it isn’t). Instead wait outside until your purp leaves the domicile and arrest them then. Do it outside in the public. Storming an apartment is not worth the risk to the officers, the occupants, the property, nor the neighbors. When the solution is more costly and dangerous than the crime / criminal, it is not worth the risk.

They do a no knock so people can’t hide drugs or call other accomplices. I do think doing the non knock would mean Breonna Taylor would probably still be alive today. I think they should have never executed this warrant without a swat team.

What are you talking about? Most of those facts back it up in that article. You realize no media will tell the truth? There is a 41 or 49 page document that was leaked with all the evidence they had against Breonna Taylor and everyone who was in it.

She may have resigned or got fired but she did so because of her rental car being linked to a homicide. Look up Brandon Tatum. He breaks it down and also has the documents. He is ex swat.

How so? What will come of this?

DP. If you read the full motion, it implies that the AG misrepresented the grand jury proceedings to the public, suggesting that they reached certain conclusions they didn’t, considered lesser charges that may not have been put before them, and reviewed certain evidence they didn’t.

Yeah but what is the practical outcome of all this?

Good that some leaders within the Black community are speaking up about this.

His logic is flawed and stupid. Stop using Barkley to prop up your bias.

The police had no business barging into their house in the first place, boyfriend fired not as some vigilante but as a man protecting himself from intruders. The same people who think that Trayvon Martin got what he deserved abs that George Zimmerman was justified in shooting him to death, are now the same people who say Taylor’s boyfriend shouldn’t have shot back.

Funny, the goal posts keep changing.

The police did not verbally identify themselves and they were not wearing uniforms. There was no way to distinguish them from intruders. It was tragic on all sides but the reality is that if the boyfriend was white no one on earth would be complaining about his use of arms. And while I have no internet in guns and little patience for NRA crazy, the situation in which the boyfriend used a gun is precisely the one every gun advocate points out they want a gun for - to defend themselves against armed intruders. If you blame the boyfriend I want to also see you ban all gins except for hunting rifles and demand they be stored at specific locations near where you can hunt. Don’t be stupid.

The grand juror is asking for two things:
1. Release of grand jury transcript and recordings and
2. Permission to speak about the case publicly

Grand jury members cannot speak about the case publicly. There is a gag order. Grand juror accuses the AG of misinformation

Curt grants the Jurors petition. Transcript being released on Wednesday.

The KY AG may want to plan to have a bad day.

They did not have the personnel to enter without an occupant opening the door. Swat was not available.

Did they really announce that they were police? Witnesses say no.

One officer fired 16 shots. Why? Is that really self defense? Count to sixteen. That's a lot of gunshots.

There was a 70 second pause before more shots were fired. Why? That's self-defense?

Taylor was shot at many times while she was on the floor.

If that doesn't result in criminal charges it means the laws are flawed.

A city can be civilly liable to the tune of $12 million dollars but nobody is criminally liable? I'm clearly not a lawyer but that doesn't make sense to me.

How does it not make sense? Two different standards of proof. One has as a consequence money; the other prison.

Grand juror has started speaking since the court's order. Apparently the AG lied when she said the grand jury determined that no charges should be brought against the two officers who shot Breonna Taylor. According the juror, they were never even given the option to indict either of those officers, only the one indicted for wanton endangerment for shooting into the neighboring apartment.
