Metro United having ID Sessions

No, you aren't entirely wrong. Versatility is better and more recruitable, but it's not atyipcal for some players to only play a certain position or similar type positions. I wouldn't say that's good for development, but it happens a fair amount,

It has greatly improved. The youngest two teams are the outliers, and many of us are wondering if that too will be fixed so we can figure out what to do for next year.

Take a look at the rosters. It is 1 play up per age group at most except for the youngest team. This seems normal to me.

If they keep to to a year up, it fits, it makes sense, and some players are that good. At 2+ years, you better be exceptionally fast and bigger than average to keep up. I would even say speed ahead of size. Otherwise, all that technique gets swallowed up.

You don’t necessarily have to be bigger, but talented enough to know how to dodge em

That's why I said speed. If you can run fast enough, that is more important. I saw one girl up in NJ who was like that. She was also rather big for her age, but she had that speed. So her technique along with her speed made it work. When you don't, you may have better technique, but you lose the ability to impact the game, to be able to defend and to be able to have the ball played to you in space because the other players get there ahead of you.

Someone has a vendetta against the 2006 WS/MU team. Likely either a former parent or a spurned parent whose DD either didn't get an offer or has an issue with someone there now.

I'd be interested to see how many goals a div 2 NCSL team would give up to Penn Fusion DA.... THAT match would be pure comedy.

I just love these Metro/Spirit vendettas. The club is going through growing pains and currently offers no competitive threat to other DAs. Take the easy win and just live your own life. Save your vendetta for a club that threatens you on the field. The constant trolling of Metro just shows a deep insecurity in your own program and your own cowardice because you won’t talk trash about clubs who might actually threaten you on the field.

And why the trolling of the playups is also baffling. Acting like they are concerned for the well being of those kids. If the playups didn’t show up to your ID sessions perhaps you should reach out to them personally in an effort to get them on the right soccer path.

+1000. The girl that is playing up might be the next Olivia Moultrie. Also, if her parents and the other parents on her team have no concern, then why should anyone be concerned?

Uhh, nobody said the other parents on the team don't have concern. Several have directly expressed concern.

Uh no. No parents expressed concern about play ups on the 06 team. You are speaking about another team. I know it is hard for you to track as a complete outsider. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Happy for you, but many, probably more than you’d think, express concern to those outside the club and not on the MU sidelines. Believe what you want, but many want the player off the team.

Is this biggest issue Metro faces? Questions about whether parents support a particular play up? Sign me up.

Many, and it could collapse that team if it is continue to be ignored.

I have no dog in this fight —my kids dont play soccer but I feel horrible for the 07 playing 05. Way too many anonymous comments about a kid.

Watch a game, you’ll feel bad for the 05 teammates that are trying to showcase and mad at the HC and mom for making this a situation.

Exactly, and the 05s have some real talent.
