They are currently searching for bone fragments.

Bone fragments? Why?

Did he have access to a wood chipper?

Ohhh sh*t. But if he did this WHY DIDN'T HE INCINERATE THE CLEAN-UP EVIDENCE? I guess he couldn't get back to the incinerator in time.

Search moves to a Hartford trash-to-energy plant. Sources said police closed down the incinerator overnight Monday into Tuesday to search inside for bone fragments.

She was reported missing very quickly, and not much time was wasted starting a search for her.
They really had a small window to clean up and dispose of a body

And yet somehow he and the GF were able to dispose of incriminating trash in 30 different receptacles AND have the evidence burned in 25/30 instances before the police could collect it?

It's weird because the CT State Police knew she was missing from the very day she went missing. How did they not recover all that evidence?

I’m guessing it took time to pull the cellphone data and triangulate it with the street cams.

While I still think the nanny is great, I’m pretty sure I read the kids had a half day of school and it was always the plan for nanny to pick them up and take them to grandmas. Mom at two appointments in NYC and would meet them there later. When they realized she was missing, kids were already at grandmas.

Are we certain the evidence has been burned?
Could it just not have been located yet?

No but we are certain it has all been crushed in prep for being burned, per standard procedure at the trash facility.

I guess the police are checking to see if her body was tossed in the trash and incinerated. If they find her bone chips in the incinerator that's all they'll need.

If they have 5 bags of trash filled with bloody murder scene clean up supplies then they don't really need the 25 other bags do they? At this point they're just trying to confirm where her body is.

Yes I think at this point they don’t know where the body is and want to rule in/out if it was placed in the trash bags or elsewhere. Given the cell phone pings and unlikelihood of the body being buried or burned, I think the bags are the most likely outcome.

What a dumb dumb.

I get it now. The plan to kill her got more bloody than he thought or maybe was an impulse. But he thought the incinerator would reduce the body to nothing. And the trash would take the rest. He sent her body to the dump. Yikes
I think the nanny played a role calling the police right away. Also it was a holiday so the trash was suspended.

I believe he will be convicted. She was the one with money and connections. The GF will be using hers to stay out of prison.

She = the wife.

Uh, I think that's been established.

I just started reading this post from the beginning and was horrified that someone felt the need to comment that this person looks good for her age.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Must women still be objectified, even when they are possible murder victims? This is not some TV plot. It is a human being's life.

I feel like these two have never, ever seen one episode of 48 hours, Dateline NBC, etc. They are horrible at covering their tracks.
