Schools cause PoP to leave Petworth

Yeah, I thought people liked that Crestwood was their little secret.

Up until the ruthless boundary bait n switch. What I don't get is that most people felt the Crestwood cut was unfair but they would have cheered if it had been Shepherd Park.

At least, judging by the reactions on DCUM.

That's bitterness after the fact. Why would someone in Crestwood care about Shepherd Park?

+1 Someone doesn't get out much.

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with a tiny, leafy neighborhood that seems to be nothing but houses. Please, let me know what attractions in Crestwood we from the rest of DC should visit.

It is 45 minutes for me to get there, so it better be awesome!

Not many attractions in Barry Farms, Michighan Park, Bloomingdale, Edgewood or Woodridge, but as a Washingtonian, I have at least heard of these neighborhoods.

You're misunderstanding. Many wanted SP cut out of Deal/Wilson to reduce crowding.

The only thing worth a 45 minute drive is Carter Barron. More specifically, I highly recommend the free DC Blues festival on Sept. 5:

I'd also suggest tennis but you just missed the tournament.

Boom!

Why boom? Everyone should have heard of it because of a music festival in a dying genre?

My guess is that those were the folks WOTP that got rezoned to Hardy. Super bitter.

Hmmm. I've heard of Crestwood but not Shepherd Park or Colonial Village. Just had to google them.

Like most of the 16th St neighborhoods, there is nothing there but houses. If you don't know someone who lives in Crestwood, Shepherd Park, etc., there is absolutely no reason to go there so the names don't resonate like say, Adams Morgan.

Really, living here for 30 years wouldn't help you with learning all if not most of the neighborhoods despite not having any restaurants there? Have you ever heard of Woodridge, Palisades, Michigan Park, Barry Farms, Brightwood, Bloomingdale, Petworth (5 years ago), Chevy Chase? I think being a long term resident should come with a responsibility to know at least the Wards and neighborhoods that make the city. There aren't that many.

I have never lived in DC (Fairfax) and I have heard of all these neighborhoods. Do you never read the newspaper?

Hahaha, blues a dying genre. Sure, and only music historians ever go to the Kennedy Center, because classical music and Opera are long dead. Why is everything so funny on dcum these days?

I'm wondering what newspaper mentions Crestwood?

Are you joking? Is this meant as humor? The Northwest Current?
