Which parent is Iranian, mom or dad? |
Hipster parents. Always trying to figure out how to move to Brooklyn, or even better, Queens which is the new Brooklyn. The kids wear Converse, and ONLY Converse, and Nola is encouraged to be a tomboy but both parents secretly think it's cute when she insists on going out in a baseball jersey with a tutu. Mom has a tramp stamp. Dad has a tattoo on his upper arm and tries to have street creed by talking about when he'll be able to get a half sleeve. Mom doesn't quite fit in with the other preschool moms, and kind of wants to but also wants to be her badass self. She cringes every time she meets another Gus. |

trying to hard. you are not a hipster. it's ok. |
Can I add that mom and dad insist on Saturday morning family time which involves French press coffee and listening to vinyl records while the children eat expensive donuts and put on puppet shows? |
mine is 9mos and so cute! he is going to be a troublemaker i think. i am kinda surprised by all these snowflake names. i thought DC was a little more boring that that. oh well, maybe it's just me! |
You live in Bethesda or Kensington in a four bedroom house, kids all play sports, you drive a minivan and have a lab or golden retriever. |

Very close to mine. Evelyn (Evie) Benjamin (Ben) I have just "outed" myself as I know several people who read DCUM. |
You got my H correct. He wants to move to Brooklyn (where his mom grew up). (Me, not so much.) Yes on Converse. (Except when they wear Vans or sports shoes.) Yes on Nola. Messy girl in a tutu. Soccer or football jersey. Mom HATES tatoos. Dad has a tattoo on his upper arm. (No plan for a sleeve - God I hope not.) Mom does not fit in with preschool moms (but that was years ago). I am not a bad ass - just a computer geek. (or maybe I am a badass but have not realized it yet) I do secretly wish I had a clue what these women were talking about. I am happy when I meet a Gus because I was not so sure about it and it validates my decision - which I think is pathetic. Dad would probably play vinyl records if we had them. Is krispy kreme expensive? Good job! |
That's funny because we watch almost no TV other than news. We have no cable or satellite or other TV service, we just watch HD TV over the air when we do. We had no idea about the Dexter TV show until after we picked the name and several people mentioned it. It was just a name we liked. Spencer was mildly suggested because I do like some old Hepburn/Tracy films, but I haven't seen too many of them. Other than Spencer Tracy, Spencer for Hire, Dexter Carrington and Dexter the serial killer, where else are these names on TV? I really have no idea. |
