Biggest Rise: Chantilly. Finished as the 6th ranked team in Region D last year with 11-7 record after going 6-8 in 2024. I think there's even more room for improvement. Sneaky peak to make as D2 seed at states.

Biggest Fall: Yorktown. Hard to go anywhere but down after going 42-2 over the last two years. Will still be competitive, but I expect them to drop most games to the other top teams. But don't be shocked if YT's depth comes on strong at the end of the season when the new lineup starts to gel.

Holding Steady (at the top): Madison. Lost some outstanding talent but still have plenty returning. I think Madison has the best depth this season and is the only team that can succeed with a couple starters injured.

Question Mark: Langley. Tons of talent after underperforming a little last year. There may still be some holes the other teams can exploit. I think they will be strong but are a year away. I predict a big run in 2027.

It's going to be another good one. Agree with this for the most part, so just adding my 2cents after watching some of the scrimmages this past week.

- Add Woodson in the mix of teams that can make some noise. They beat Chantilly earlier this week. Both teams can contend, but not sure if they have enough firepower to get past any of the top teams.
- YT is rebuilding and replacing lost their biggest asset, Coach Jenny. She built a championship culture there and will be hard to replicate. They some good players on the defensive side, but lost way too much on the offense. They're a young team, so I expect for them to bounce back.
- Madison is Madison, we know they'll be there in the end. Consensus seems to be that they are the top team with their attacker being one of the POY candidates. I still think the JMU middie and Cincy defeder left some big holes on the team. We'll find out soon enough, their season opener is against Langley.
- Langley lost some talent too that went to Colgate and FSU plus their coach at that. But it looks like they have the best duo at mid and attack. I expect them to contend and be there at the end, if the new coach can bring them together. Tough match up with Madison to start the season.
- Why did you leave BF out? Intentional or Freudian? lol As much as the parents rub the ppl the wrong way, this is a solid team. Defense is their strength with the top goalie in the area anchoring. Some really good players in that defensive group too. I'm not convinced they can score enough to win it all, but we'll see.

Good luck to everyone this season!

Actually if you talk to BF parents defense is their biggest hole this year. The goalie is lights out, but they lost a very good defender who transfered at a few seniors that graduated. Their offense and goalie is what will keep them in games.

Not a good practice to rely on parents opinions. Trusting what I see on film. In fact, you just strengthened the point. The defender that left was dominant in the circle and the top scorer. Less possessions and will struggle in the circle.

Are you referring to the senior midfielder that graduated?

Yes, you're right, I'm referring to the mid (defender for travel) that graduated and plays for ASU. The phenom defender will be missed. BF might have more holes than originally thought.

You’re an idiot. With that logic, Madison is going to suck without their JMU commit

Moving on to someone who has an actual brain cell

That escalated quickly. The poster acknowledged his mistake about ASU... what's wrong with the poster thinking BF may have some holes? That makes the poster an idiot?

They are 5a. If you want to make a top 5 of 5a you can so people can comment on it, but they don’t need to be added to the 6a conversation

Where does it say this is only 6A?

Seems like some teams of the 6A teams are regretting putting LR in their schedule!!

Woodson cut the score to 12-7 but lightridgr went on run to win 18-8. Woodson D could not figure out how to defend cutters cutting right in front of goal.
