There is zero chance of that happening. Name a single politician or duo (P/VP) who could actually capture electoral college votes.

In a normal election I'd agree with you but with candidates as historically weak as Trump and Biden... ehhh, maybe

You didn’t name anyone. Noted.

It’s Biden or Trump. Those pushing third party options this year are even more evil than they have been in the past.

Nader, Nader, Sander/Stein. Do not let the GOP end America.

Pathetic.

There’s nothing pathetic about Biden. Certainly it’s pathetic that the Republican Party is as far gone as they are, and that so many are so dedicated to the both sides garbage line that helps the GOP.

It’s delusional to think Genocide Joe isn’t pathetic.

And why shouldn’t decent Americans, decent humanity want better than these senile boffins?

Do you think people take your posts seriously? What do you think Donald Trump would do differently in Gaza?

He'd be worse, but threatening support of old guard geriatric democrats is the only lever people have. It's naive to expect them not to pull it

It's really not. Run for office. Work from the inside. Setting yourself on fire, literally or figuratively, results in a lot of back pats from the people who already agree with you - and makes the rest of us think you're an absolutely deranged lunatic.

The DNC paved the way for a deeply unpopular president to run for reelection and now democrats are realizing just how unpopular he is and panicking

And yet, he is the only thing standing between the US and fascism. There are no other democrats who poll anywhere close to Biden versus Trump or any other republican.

So either suck it up and support Biden or prepare for 2024 to be the last fair election in our lifetimes.

He wouldn't be providing humanitarian aid.
He wouldn't be trying for a cease fire.
He wouldn't be pushing for a two-state solution.

That is what isn't getting me with respect to the very far left here. They are pushing against Biden not grasping that if Trump wins, it will be far worse for the regular Palestinian people.

Maybe. But do you credulous middlebrows (i.e. those who just say “Trump worse!”) think Trump would be as bent by Netanyahu as Biden has been?

Uh, do understand what the "Abraham Accords" were and Jared ("Bibi used to bounce me on his knee") Kusner's relationship to Netanyahu?

Is this a serious question?

Netanyahu/trump/Putin - all cut from the same cloth. The only reason Israel is where it is right now is because Netanyahu waged this war to keep his own hide out of jail.

I generally think people here are horribly misguided. I know enough and care enough that I happy to be disappointed here at almost all times.

I also know that the way forward involves engaging with the big issues. Most here are credulous elite school middlebrows (this is a DC-centric board, after all!) and they love shrinking critical, complex issues to dumb binaries that flatter themselves. Trump and Biden are both disasters and are both not long for this world. If one actually cares, having a mind for bigger things, for what comes next, is the most obvious way to engage.

I am not at all sorry if this baffles or otherwise upsets you. I’m focused on bigger things.

By bigger things, do you mean a two-state solution? Because Biden is the only hope the world has for that right now.

A generic D ticket out performs Biden

Three Theories for Why Trump’s Primary Results Are Not Matching Expectations

"It’s still early in the primary season, but a whiff of a possible polling error is already in the air.

That’s because Donald J. Trump has underperformed the polls in each of the first three contests.
...
One [theory], described at the bottom, seems especially plausible and consistent with something we’ve written about before: Anti-Trump voters are highly motivated to turn out this cycle. It wouldn’t mean the polls will be wrong in November, but it would be good news for Democrats nonetheless."

No. Netanyahu refuses to step down or he could go to jail, that is true.

The war was waged because Hamas brutally attacked Israel on October 7 and 132 hostages are still in Gaza. The Israeli public is united in defending themselves against Hamad monsters.

Imagine the US reaction if a country attacked us, mass raped and mutilated, killed (proportional to population) over 35,000 people and kidnapped over 3,500. What do you think we would do?

You didn’t answer the question. Netanyahu regularly plays Biden for a fool and it’s cringey af. I’m not supporting Trump, but the fact is the guy is so self-absorbed that he couldn’t bear being upstaged. Trump turned on all kinds of people: Tilerson, Bannon, and most relevant here, John Bolton.

And if you’re one of those boffins who think this war is only about Netanyahu, when it’s clearly about very deep issues in Israel, you’re probably not worth taking seriously.

What if the people who attacked Israel had been corralled into a Warsaw Ghetto-style arrangement by Israel for decades?

Just asking because it’s the truth!

That’s a (potential) answer to one very specific big question. There’s a much longer list of things that matter to the public. And it’s very clear to me, as someone who was close to scads of official DC for decades, that just about everything important to Americans (and the world) has been subordinated to the stupid court games of a gerontocracy.

Bigger issues include but are not limited to:
-not starting a bigger war
-AGW
-income inequality
-mass corruption
-poor governance structures, including crappy elections and other things that produce public distrust
-the disappearance of a half-way credible journalism sector
-instability in LatAm, including its producing large numbers of migrants
-COVID and declining life spans

Not everything, but Democrats who can’t see past Trump (or Biden) to the enormity of the above+other problems for the populace deserve to be crapped all over. This is even more true for me given my long-time intimate familiarity with their world, including how much $$$ many have earned keeping things stupid.

You aren't wrong, but here is why he would do those things and why people would support it:

It has been known that the humanitarian aid is going to Hamas and the people in the aid groups were part of the October 7th attack, why would we be give money to a terrorist group? It should be stopped.

He wouldn't push for a cease-fire because there was one on October 6th that Hamas violated. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Ditto as above, there was a two state resolution on October 6th, but Hamas and Palestinians in general didn't want it and were advocating for genocide of jews. Why would they suddenly change their minds?

True, but there is no generic ballot. When you start replacing generic with specific names, Biden outperforms any other option.

There is nothing on your list that Trump or the republicans would make better.

So again, you can either hold your nose and vote for Biden, or our whole country will be transformed into something that the russians would find more familiar than Americans. Reality is a thing and the GOP is telling you their plans.
