Criminal investigations are usually quiet and nonpublic. That’s because if they don’t bring charges it’s not anyone’s business. Your neighbor could have been investigated for something and it’s not intended to be neighborhood business unless public charges are brought. |
The former intel officers did not say that the laptop was Russian disinformation — they said that the emails provided by the NY Post had the hallmarks of Russian disinformation, but that they did not know if the emails they read about were genuine, nor if the Russians were involved. That said, they were suspicious given the Russians indeed tried to influence the 2016 election, and given wha they knew about Russian operations, the stories circulated by the Republican press seemed suspicious. To be sure, there were emails circulating among the Republican community that were not on the laptop. From wiki: “In some cases, The Post matched content to other sources "that the experts were not able to assess". The unverifiable emails included some prominently reported previously by other news outlets. The analysis found that people other than Hunter Biden had created six new folders on the drive over a week after the original report by the New York Post and months after the laptop had been taken into FBI custody. It also found that data had been accessed and copied off the drive by people other than Hunter Biden over the course of nearly three years.” As for Leslie Stahl’s comment, I don’t believe at the time they could verify the chain of custody of the laptop. It’s perfectly reasonable to question it’s authenticity, particularly given the polarizing environment at the time. |
Sure. It only took them 5 years. They had the laptop in 2019. If you think this is faster - LOL. Your comment is laughable. |
And, not one media group has owned up to the fact that they amplified the lies from the "former intel officials." Even some of the 51 who signed the letter have not apologized. And, the letter was organized by none other than Antony Blinken. https://nypost.com/2023/04/21/state-dept-silent-on-blinken-role-in-spies-who-lie-letter/ Let's not forget, also, that Joe lied about the laptop. Several times. |
John Ratcliffe came out early on and refuted the claims of the 51 intel officials.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/ratcliffe-says-no-proof-foreign-actors-tied-biden-laptop-officials-n1243874 And, the bolded is laughable since the FBI had the laptop for nearly a year before the news of it broke and knew damn well that the laptop was authentic. |
There were definitely many signs of Russian disinfo - for example the most salacious of the alleged claims about the Bidens' business dealings were only "corroborated" via Tony Bobulinski and Rudy Giuliani whose "corroborating evidence" sloppily forgot to pay attention to little details like the fact that it was coming from a device connected to a RUSSIAN cellphone provider (MTS RUS) as shown top left of the screen. |
Hunter Biden laptop - December 2019 evidence to June 2024 trial = 54 months Stormy Daniels illegal hush money payoff - January 2018 evidence to June 2024 trial = 77 months Math shows that Hunter's case moved faster than Trump's. You calling the claim laughable is laughable - and apparently you don't know math, which is laughable. |
What are you talking about? Nothing they said in the letter was a lie. There is no need for them to apologize. Did you read the letter? |
Hunter’s case going to trial? Democrats must be looking to dump Biden from the ticket. Understandable. |
What was Ratcliffe refuting? The intel letter did not say there was evidence the Russians were behind the emails -- they were very clear about that. |
Good grief. The feds looked at the NDA pay off and passed on the case. The FEC looked at the NDA pay off and passed.... didn't even fine him. Hell, even Bragg's predecessor looked at the case and passed. Bragg took a while to create a novel case with complicated charges. Your comparison is again, laughable. |
Oh, please. They started the letter with their credentials to give the letter credibility and strongly indicated the laptop was Russian disinformation. And, Ratcliffe was specifically refuting this part: Our view that the Russians are involved in the Hunter Biden email issue is consistent with two other significant data points as well. According to the Washington Post, citing four sources, “U.S. intelligence agencies warned the White House last year that Giuliani was the target of an influence operation by Russian intelligence.” In addition, media reports say that the FBI has now opened an investigation into Russian involvement in this case. According to USA Today, “...federal authorities are investigating whether the material supplied to the New York Post by Rudy Giuliani...is part of a smoke bomb of disinformation pushed by Russia.” https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000175-4393-d7aa-af77-579f9b330000 |
Meanwhile Dr Jill (not a doctor) flew separately to France on taxpayer dollars so she could be in court for her son. Wonder how much that added to the deficit? |
