Clearly you don’t know. You’re just throwing shade. |
I was thinking they would have someone before the school year started... |
who knows what the PP actually knows, but the observations are rationale. it is not an easy job to fill and time is of the essence. PVI had a lousy 2027 lacrosse class (if they have one at all) and their competitors are are devoting the month of August to recruiting the good 2028's. if the school is in no hurry, that tells you something about what they think of the program. does anybody know when they will actually announce the coach, and whether two candidates rumored (Ince and Solomon) have been contacted? |
C'mon, if you were "considering" PVI this fall you are way too late. PVI is at capacity at each grade and offers already went out early spring. As one of the few private options in the area it is selective. If you are basing your decision on a sports coach you are really missing what the school is about. |
I was thinking that too. Maybe their son is a 2028 and they meant that he will be looking at schools starting this fall? my own son is a 2028 who loves lacrosse and we are watching the coaching situation closely. yes, there is a lot more to PVI than lacrosse, but there are several other Catholic schools that have great academics and lacrosse too. If PVI hires a bad coach, or worse if they go dark and don't hire anybody for awhile, it will move pretty far down our list. |
We live in Great Falls / McLean area are are considering PVI, Gonzaga and Landon for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
|
Those schools are all very different. I hope you put the lacrosse program low on the list of how you pick a school. |
Any guesses on who’s going to be a top local recruit in the 2025 class and likely to announce their commitment in September? |
Objectively speaking… which DC area players from the 2025 class are considered to be in the upper echelon in their class. Other than The Bullis Attackman (Mahar), no one jumps out to me based on what I saw in the spring. |
Agreed |
Agree, as well. He will plenty of options to chose from. |
I think over all the 2025 and 2026 DMV classes are not as strong as the 2022-2024 classes. Sure there will be a few top picks but the last few years most of the top HS programs had rosters loaded with top recruits. |
I wonder how much COVID impacted these classes and whether it is a DMV specific issue or country wide. 25s lost 7th grade spring HOCO and 26s lost 6th grade. Even though many clubs sort of got back in gear in late summer fall and later there was still impacts in develop.ent because of restrictions and some kids taking periods of time off. 6th and 7th are big years for development. |
I think the 2024 class is relatively weak.
I don’t think the DC area will have a team in the national top 10 next spring. |
Even though he will be a strong pick for schools, there will be others going in September or early fall. I think one Bullis player already committed to Navy. |
