They do. VA offers some great public school options. My kid just started the IB program this year and loves it. Other kid is looking forward to tons of advanced math/STEM options. Both have had great civics education as well and can’t wait to vote in a few years. |
Hmm okay, amnesia is it? Let me refresh your memory. Education funds should follow the kids (vouchers), so that you could more easily afford to send your kids to a parochial or private school that met your scheduling needs, or get the ultimate in schedule flexibility, and homeschool. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/45/960184.page#19702230 Just give me vouchers, please. I have always been a public school supporter, but the past year has broken something. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/180/950866.page#19390094 Fcps inability to open back up to hybrid, when schools across the country have been doing so, with months of mounting evidence that it’s relatively safe, has convinced me that we should seriously look at vouchers. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/60/945958.page#19164789 If public schools are not going to open full time in the fall, should we start to push for school vouchers so that our children can go to private schools that are open in person? https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/945800.page |
Yea. And in NOVA no less. Meanwhile Terry’s rally in Alexandria yesterday consisted of 20 people standing in the rain. Until it was canceled, of course, as the candidate scrambled to deal with his latest self inflicted crisis |
You are mistaking a very vocal, minority with the majority. NoVA doesn’t want vouchers. |
LOL. I’m sure the historic flooding didn’t have anything to do with it. ![]() |
You're right. My kid goes to a non religious private school in another country (we are from DC but husband is on a temp assignment) and he has a "values" class once a week. It's great actually- they teach basics like honesty, respect, responsibility, perseverance, flexibility, empathy, etc, ALL without some stupid "Progressive" lens that teaches kids to hate each other. |
Whether you care is irrelevant to the point above. The fact that you are here posting in a politics forum at all signals that you are far more engaged politically than the average American/Virginian. So sure, you’re aware of it and you care. But so what? That says nothing about whether the vast majority of Virginia voters who don’t spend their time on politics forums are aware or care. |
Much as Trump's rallies scared loyal Democrats into voting, I think these pictures will do the same. I know much of the crowd for the Alexandria rally this morning was young GOP/Hill staffers who were ordered by their bosses to go. |
Yeah, you'd better be worried about that very vocal minority. They're out in force in Old Town Alexandria. Terry needs to cancel that terror threat - he needs to GOTV fast. |
I don’t think so cupcake. I was there. Were you? |
I don't live in VA currently, but would vote for Youngkin if I did. Because of the density of Northern Va urban areas (and blue Democratic voters) I would be amazed and delighted if he could pull it off, but hoping for the best!! |
You are misinformed. Public schools are not teaching that here. |
Wait until we see the Loudoun crowd tomorrow night. |
Love it. Anyone seem Terry today, BTW? |
Awesome, thank you for sharing!!! |
