It would be helpful to get a sense if there are still are
1) families that are still shut out (no lottery spots) 2) families that have a spot somewhere, but really don't want it and are hoping for something better 3) families that have a spot and are going to take it either because it's their top choice or it's a good enough choice and they don't feel like dealing with the lottery drama any longer. I'll start. We are #3. We got a spot at Barnard for PS3 and will keep it. We're on waitlists for 9 other schools but at this point none of them will tempt us to move. |
| 3) We are in at LAMB for PK3. We would love to be at Haynes or Capital City so that we won't ever have to do this again. (Fingers crossed for DCI) |
| 3). In at LAMB for PK 3 also (and also have our fingers crossed for DCI!) |
| ^^ Trolls! If you're in at LAMB STFU already. |
| Please go away, classless potty mouth. Why must short fused dolts try to derail every useful thread? |
|
Um, NP here, what is it exactly that's useful about this thread?
|
| Hearing people chime in because they had the feigned misfortune of getting in to LAMB spits in the face of parents who were actually shut out. And those parents whining about LAMB know it. Using what should be helpful to parents who really don't have a slot as a playground to boast is sad and disgusting. If you're in at a top charter, do us all a favor- STFU already. Otherwise give up you woeful slot. Lot's of others would take it. |
| How was either LAMB person woeful? The first one seemed to be saying it would have been nice to get a spot that would carry you through to high school to avoid lottery mayhem but that she/he is hopeful that DCI would materialize. The second LAMB was just reporting where they got a spot and agreed that she/he is hoping for DCI too. Are they happy they got spots? I'm sure they are. But they hardly seem to be reporting disappointment in their good fortune or gloating. Read insights that don't exist elsewhere and go lick your wounds somewhere else too. |
| LAMB poster 2 here. I was thrilled to get a slot and feel grateful every day. I did not come here to boast because I know how easy it could be to be shut out completely (our waitlist numbers are laughable elsewhere). I responded to OP's question and, even though we got a slot, I still am invested in my city's system and interested in what people are doing. I didn't check out the minute my daughter got in somewhere. |
| Personally, I found the LAMB posts very useful--good to know that the list is moving. For the two LAMB posters--what were your initial waitlist numbers? |
|
OP, were you WL at barnard? what was your #?
we are in at Appletree CH, hoping for Bridges, Barnard, Haynes, West. (well, hoping for many other slots, but these are the only ones in the vague realm of possibility). |
| OP here. No, we got our PS3 spot at Barnard from the first lottery draw (we are in-boundary so got preference). Literally in the 300s and 400s for all other waitlists, with the exception of IT, which we also remarkably got a spot at. But we gave it up months ago. |
| LAMB poster 2 again. In response to PP's question, we got into PS-3 in the original lottery and have not gotten in anywhere else. |
| This very unhelpful thread needs to die. |
| I'm shut out of everywhere except LAMB, Stokes, MV and Cap City. Not sure where will be going. Can't believe our awful luck!!! |
