How many times a week should I be doing yoga and pilates?
I'm deeply out of shape and need to get my ass back on track. |
| Any is better than nine. I think 3-5 is ideal, but 2 is fine. |
| When I was actually doing Pilates regularly, I would try for every other day, or daily but working different parts of the body on successive days. |
| Be careful, there is such a thing as yoga overuse injuries, you can pull joints out of sockets. My doctor told me no more than 2 or 3 times a week. I know there are people who practice every day, but you have to be mindful of teh fact that it is like any other sport and can cause injuries. |
| Ideally, Pilates 2x/week, Yoga every other day, and one additional cardio activity about 3x/week. |
| Listen to your body and do it as often as it tells you. When in doubt, do it! |
