| In your mind (by definition subjective), which state colleges and universities do you consider to be prestigious. Michigan? UVA? |
|
Rice
UC Berkeley |
| UNC - Chapel Hill |
|
Michigan
University of Florida |
| Miami of Ohio |
|
UCLA
Berkeley |
| Rice is private. |

UC Berkeley, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara
University of Michigan Georgia Tech Purdue UNC UVA Cornell (College of Agriculture) SUNY Stonybrook (Math) University of Indiana (School of Music) |
Miami grad here. Um, no. But, thanks for playing. Lovely parting gifts for you at the door and all that. |
| It really depends on the program, OP. Most public schools are major research universities and some tend to have marquee graduate programs. But most of them are definitely better for graduate school than undergrad. |
If you're counting Purdue, then add Pitt, Penn State and U Del. |
Don't think Purdue and Cornell are state schools. |
| Purdue is public, and there is a school within Cornell that is public, I think PP is right that it is the ag college. |

The ones that come to mind for me (no particular order)
Berkeley Michigan UNC-Chapel Hill UVA W&M UCLA |

UVA
Wm & Mary UNC Chapel Hill Michigan UCLA and Berkley plenty of others are good, too, but these are quite competitive to get into as an out of state applicant |
