Any parent or decision maker who isn’t worried about the kids is not thinking clearly. The risk is way too high here.

Then stay home. Your horror solved.

I can’t. I’m a teacher who will babysit your kids tomorrow. And my teenager will now miss new content and be behind if I don’t send them. Think much? Jerk.

So it is the teachers who are upset that they have to work!!!!! No surprise.

It's not. There's an unhinged SAHM and another who is upset that their Friday workday has been upended because they have to parent their kids to school.

This is feeling like deja vu from the day Closefcps trended on Twitter about ten years ago. They opened and it was an absolute icy disaster. Buses didn’t come or came nearly an hour late. Cars were stuck on the icy roads near schools. It was an absolute mess.

Only difference is there was additional snow that day. I doubt there'll be any issues today, but I do wish they had closed.

Hi. I just found this post and also would like to share my concerns. I have locked myself inside since Sunday with my 4 precious perfect children. I just looked out and nothing has melted. My front walkway, no! My driveway, no! And my driveway has a big wall of snow by it! What do I pay my taxes for? So unsafe. This is Trump’s fault.

If you couldn’t tell the previous post was pure sarcasm you need to go back to school.

This is NOT a deja vu. Totally different scenario.

To be fair, that was a mess up on EVERYONE. There was a storm the changed at the last minute during rush hour. Snow was falling as everyone was heading out to work/school. Weather forecasters missed it completely. This wasn’t just an FCPS issue, but an entire DMV issue.

That day turned into the infamous “Garza Snow Day.” Staff were given a day to take as administrative leave in order to make up for having to come to work that day.

Interesting end to Reid’s message

“I recognize that it will be some time before every roadway, sidewalk, and bus stop are completely clear, so please make the decision that is best for your family.

Stay Safe.”

I would have gone with:

Children here is your opportunity to be able to tell your grandparents that you also walked 5 miles up hill both ways in the snow and ice and freezing temperatures.

How about adding me? Kiss and ride road is a sheet of ice. The sidewalk that the students have to use to walk to school hasn’t been cleared and kids will need to walk along a busy road to avoid the sidewalk.

That won’t be happening. At best, with so many students out, it’ll be review. I guess if your kids are behind, it’ll be good for them. Insert multiple exclamation points here.

Nope, already had messages from both schools in talking points reiterating that today they will be learning new material!!!!! I guess our principals hire professionals.

Okay, you're added. Sheets of ice!!! Stay home if it's not going to work for you. The district isn't staying shut because some households didn't clean their sidewalks. It's not VDOT's responsibility.
