| Just feeling a sense of relief that we all get a break from the relentless routines of early rising, sports, activities and endless homework. My kids are old enough to amuse themselves much of the time (high school) and each have some weeks of scheduled camps, activities combined with slower weeks with lots of downtime. So looking forward to this more leisurely time of year! |
| For some irrational reason I'm thrilled. Yes school is over. The problem is that I work full time. My kids start camp tomorrow at 7:30am. Not really sure how this is different for me. But I'm excited anyway. |
| DCPS still has one more week. It can't come fast enough! |
| I sah, I'm happy for them because I remember how exciting it was to get out of school. |
No HW! |
| Wow. I can't stand summer schedules! Summer comong with the longer sun in evenings and cobbling camps and childcare together then a vacation where I cant wait to get back to work after three days (if only to stop the manic work emails and calls) seems interminable. Glad you guys can make it work. Maybe I a few more years it will get easier. I used to love summer. |
Camp is so much easier than school, at least from my perspective as a working parent. No homework, no rush to get out the door because there isn't any penalty if you're 5 minutes late, and your kids come home smiling having gotten their needs met and their "wiggles out" so to speak so you can have a nice evening together. |

Counting down the hours.
The only annoyance is the way fcps is doing it this year. Tuesday will be such a waste of time and money. |
| You're not alone. We travel during the summers, and by the end of school I've gotten so much research done on all the fun and interesting places we're going that I'm chomping at the bit to get on the plane and start our adventure. |
| I am mixed, glad to be off this treadmill, but not sure that we don't have another one with summer camps. |
| I can't wail till it's over. Two more days for us! |
| Hell, Yes! |
|
Yes. I'm a teacher and I'm relieved. At this point I'm totally fried. I'm talking burnt out and exhausted. Need some downtime desperately.
Don't worry, by September I'll be raring to go again!

| Relieved I don't have to oversee the homework for the next 10 weeks. Not so thrilled to spend an extra hour every day driving to/from camp. |
| Thrilled. |
