10-30 lbs of fecal matter in colon?

Anonymous
Okay, so while I have been losing weight, suddenly I have gained "20" lbs in about 3 weeks. but my bowel movements are infrequent. Is it possible that I have not actually gained this much, but instead I have built up this much crap in my colon? I bought Milk of Magnesia... would it be okay to drink an entire bottle? To try to get things moving?

Thanks in advance!

You should eat some prunes, drink lots of water, eat some oat bran.

See a doctor. Rapid weight gain can be a sign of serious problems. You should not be self-diagnosing and treating.

im scared to see my doctor. Everytime I go they blame whatever ailment on my weight. I went for a case of norovirus and they said "you could avoid bugs like this if you lost some more weight". I feel traumatized as I try to lose weight but afraid to see a doctor.

That is a lot of weight for 3 weeks!!!

Please go to your own doctor for this issue, unless you can switch doctors rapidly. If anyone in the medical field makes snide comments like the one you describe, speak up immediately: "I am doing my best to lose weight, and would appreciate if you could give me constructive medical advice instead of criticizing."

Don't let fear get in the way of caring for your body.

This is so unprofessional and unhelpful.

Op did you change your sleep, eating or exercise routines in the last 3 weeks?

Go to a gastroenterologist. They won't focus on their weight.

meant on your weight.

A GI doc will focus on the digestive issues and give you medical advice about the safest things to get things moving.

Just being honest, but you sound like one of my anorexic sorority sisters from college in miami.

It's not your colon - maybe it has 1 pound of doodoo. You just gained weight.

Just eat salad with cottage cheese for dressing twice a week, no carbs at dinner ever, and the weight will fall off. Lay off the laxatives. Just buy some Edy's Acai Blueberry pops and you will be regular again.

Go to have colon hydrotherapy.
When I become irregular, I go and it helps me get rid of 3-5 lbs of fecal residue

I eat balanced meals. And I have been losing slowly but steady. Funny you think you know me from behind a keyboard.

Could it be some water weight? Are yor fingers or ankles swollen. Just make an appt at a larger practice, ask for a doc that is more compassionate with larger patients
