If you think this, then you have a distinct lack of medical common sense. I recommend that you read dosage instructions for anything you buy, including over-the-counter medications like this. Improper dosing causes many, many problems that emergency rooms and urgent care centers frequently deal with. There is a reason that there are dosage instructions on all containers.

Op here. I have been told to drink a whole bottle before by medical professionals.

I'm calling bs. Define "medical professionals" OP.

Before when I had cramping caused by constipation my doctor (not homeopathic, but obviously licensed and worked for Kaiser P) said to drink an entire bottle of MoM over the course of 3 hours to ease the constipation.

When I become irregular, I go and it helps me get rid of 3-5 lbs of fecal residue

Where do you go? My former spot has closed down.

I did my fitness pal to lose 10 pounds, about a pound per week was the calculation. Allowed 1250 calories per day -- no, not a lot but it wasnt forever. I went from pooing at least 5 times a week to only 1-2 times per week. It was odd. But i never felt constipated or bloated. So infrequent bowel movements are not odd or worrisome to me (as long as you feel ok), but the heavy weight gain does sound odd. Are you eating enough calories? Otherwise your body goes into "starvation" mode and retains everything.

Is it possible that I have not actually gained this much, but instead I have built up this much crap in my colon? I bought Milk of Magnesia... would it be okay to drink an entire bottle? To try to get things moving?

Thanks in advance!

So when was the last time you pooped OP? I don't quite understand the post. How did you initially lose weight and in what time frame? And then what changed in the 3 weeks you gained 20 lbs?

Give some context - what is your starter weight and how much did you lose before you gained again? If you have infrequent bowel movements has it ever occurred to see a GI for this chronic (?) condition? Maybe there is a blockage of some sort, maybe a twisted intestine, etc.?

Consider a new doctor. People of all sizes and shapes get norovirus. What an incredibly insensitive thing to say.
