Just wondering.. how long did you do it?
My pediatrician told me not to kill myself over this but I wanted to poll you guys to see how long you guys lasted. I plan on bf'ing and pumping but only for a few months max... |

I did 6 months ebf, then mornings/nights for another few months. Do what you can but don't stress yourself out. You may enjoy it and find it easy or it may be tough. You don't really have to decide now.
Fwiw, I found it easy after the first few weeks and was able to take 6 months off, so I didn't have to deal with much pumping. |
I did it until kiddo self weaned at about 20 months.
Until 3 years. Didn't see that coming.
One week. DD hated it and would scream when I tried to latch her on. I tried pumping and could only get 2 oz after an hour, which she would eat and then I'd wonder WTF I was going to feed her in two more hours. My pediatrician finally gently told me that trying formula didn't make me a bad person. I gave her a bottle and life instantly got better and easier for all of us. She ate, she slept, I relaxed, we no longer battled over the boob. It was relief. I used formula the rest of her infancy and never looked back. I plan to start formula from the get-go when #2 arrives.
Exact same situation as PP. Formula changed our lives.
Exclusively for 5 months then morning and night till 14 and a half months.
I did it for 15 months. I SAH though. I wouldn't have kept up pumping if I worked FT.
Seven months. It would have been longer but biting became a fun game for DC.
Wanted to get to 6 months, but we're at 7 months and going strong. We've occasionally supplemented with a bottle of formula for various reasons, but right now I don't even see us stopping BFing at a year .
|
EBF for 5 months until I went back to work. Did a combination of nursing, pumped breastmilk and formula until one year. Still nursing twice a day now at 15 months. Do what works for you.
13 months with first baby. But, it was very very important to me.
2 children -- each got 6 months. Both cut teeth at 5 months -- made it very easy.
Those who nursed 6 mths plus, did you get your monthly periods?
About 20 months. When I first started I thought I'd be lucky making it 6 weeks. It was the hardest the first 2 months.
