Latch problems tend to resolve when the baby is bigger/stronger. Go to an LC. It will likely hurt when you drop the shield, but only for a week or two. Usually your supply is better without the shield. If you want to BF, you can -- my sister had a premie and tons of latch issues and had to use a shield for weeks, and her sone BFed until he was 18 months. She told me to go to an LC early and often if I had the same issues (I did, and it was great advice). Good luck! |
