But, how come you gave up all the "service" you were in charge of?

Is it really service when in exchange the BRF gets immense privilege and wealth?

Thought they left for a life of privacy...

They don't know what they left for!
I think Harry left bcs William cheated on Kate and Harry was just disgusted that after everything they went through BCS of a cheating dad, William could do something like that to his wife and kids.

What a great video! Harry was absolutely charming in this interview. I feel like the the casualness of talking with James Corden brings out his best.

I'm glad he escaped and wish him all the happiness with Meaghan, Archie and new baby in their CA lives.

The "privilege" is interesting, because the previously unwritten rule was that the two went together, service and privilege. Now it's explicitly spelled out, if you don't want to do the royal service, you don't get the royal privilege.

He'll have to make do with being an American, a person without royal privilege. And frankly, he doesn't need to bother with "a life of service" anymore.

Yet, that is exactly what he told James Corden, that his life is a life of service and that is what he will continue to do and that Meghan signed on for it.

I enjoyed Harry’s bit on the Late Show. Felt kind of bad when he said he had never been on an open-air bus- I’d hate to be a Royal or even famous. I was very surprised he commented on the Crown.

Still don’t care for Meghan though.

It was bad timing, with the pandemic and now with young children. Not a good time to leave a life of service to start a life of service.

I guess we'll see.

I watched the interview with James Corden. He's just funny! And makes his guests laugh all the time. I like how encouraging Harry is with James during the obstacle course. Only a few men I know do this, encourage others on the side when they are performing. Many others don't exhibit this type of behavior. Some only worry about competing and finishing even if it is a friendly interview or a friendly performance.

One don't know what life is like inside a family until they are put in that same spot. Same for any family. On the outside, everything looks great but there's always drama. Harry mentions it's the British "news" that he didn't appreciate making up stories about them, not the family itself. Then again, there is always drama in any family.

It was the best time. They got a year of freedom to settle into a new country and new lives without the glare of major media. Both of them clearly enjoyed it. Harry’s looking the picture of health and Meghan’s been pregnant twice in the same year.

That’s on top of signing those deals and getting essentially free hundreds of millions until Covid is over.

I’m rooting for them.

Aw that was actually hilarious and charming. Its amazing how annoying Meghan is. Even in that 15 second clip she is so cringe.

Harry isn't the problem. SHE is.

IT's such a cliche and juvenile term, but "Fake", actually does fit her pretty well.

I'm not going to quibble with people who think she seems fake because it's not like it will change anyone's mind. I don't think it's a meaningful criticism, though. You're judging her as a stranger, through a screen, in a pre-planned comedic TV bit. I don't think she's required to bare her authentic self in these situations. She has a public persona she can put on for this stuff. It's probably emotionally healthy to do so. Look at how she got raked over the coals for her one comment in an interview about no one asking how she was doing. She let herself be honest and vulnerable once, and she was torn apart for it.

Hmmm...they have different personalities. I always felt Meghan is the type of personality who is chill around her friends and people she knows and trust but guarded in public. Nothing wrong with either personality.

Its obvious that nothing about Meghan is "chill". She is hyper competitive and Type A, that is how she clawed her way to the top coming from where she does. She is very meticulous and detail oriented and goes for what she wants.

Well yes and no. We won't ever know her private self and we don't expect to. What she shows us is her public self, and if it doesn't come across well, that's not going to further her ambition to be a popular well-liked public figure.

He’s got best of both worlds. Can have some privacy and doors will always open for him because he is and always will be a Prince of England.

His children may not be grateful as they get older not to have their royal heritage.
