| Well said. |
| Why do some Districts do HM honors, and others don't? Is determined by the District AD's that they allow HM honors? |
By everyone you mean just a 1/4th of the total number of kids playing varsity in the district (assuming every team has at least 25 kids on varsity). |
Everyone does HM honors. Some might not broadcast it. In reality only first team is what matters because those are the kids who go on to All Region Selection and then 1st team region on to All state. 2nd team is normally the players who got first team votes but didn't make the top 4. HM are players coaches want to recognize and there are no rules or guidance on who or what qualifies for HM. And the coaches in the meeting police themselves on HM. |
Yes Proper way to do it: First and second team You don't do HM until Regional 3 Attack 3 Mid 3 Pole 1 FO 1 SSDM 1 LSM 1 G |
If your only focus is on who makes All Region then sure your point makes sense, but since that's not what matters to most people it's not a very sound claim. |
|
Can someone explain again how many teams make it to Regionals? Specifically I'm wondering about Region C since it seems like each Region has a different number.
Does each District get 2 or 4 teams? Or is it 2 per District and then additional teams from each District based on records? |
There's no HM at region because there's only 8 players per position who make region voting, 4 from both districts in the region. 4 make first team, 4 make 2nd. Should coaches now bring 2nd team all district players to regions to vote them for HM? Now who's giving everyone a trophy! |
Region D is top 4 teams after playoffs. Region C is 6 teams, 1st and 2nd place in both districts get byes. |

Predictions:
Fairfax 16, Mount Vernon 1 Lake Braddock 13, Falls Church 1 West Springfield 16, TJ 1 Woodson 19, Justice 0 |
Vey FFX way of thinking of things. You do realize that other regions have more than 2 districts per region? |
A+ for effort to whoever took the time to type this all in. |
Are the brackets posted anywhere yet? Thanks! |
