Of course!

Did you people watch the video? She first asked about boots on the ground in general and then specifically asked about Israeli boots on the ground. At no point in this clip did she mention American boots on the ground. I’m sure you all want to read into it that way and you might be right. But that isn’t what was said and this is a misleading headline. This is the entire problem with the Internet people just spew out their opinions and everyone shares it uncritically.

No. Not even close.

Give it a chance. Once the Chinese and other actors stop laughing at the US and collect themselves they might decide that Trump has made the US weak enough to make moves.

Huh. That’s a new (and silly) one.

China is most assuredly not laughing about this. Don’t believe me? Try the WaPo: https://wapo.st/4usIC9I

They are laughing at watching their only competition in the world commit economics kand strategic suicide in real time.

Economic, potentially. Though if our economy fails, China will be very badly hurt in the short/medium term.

Strategically? Just the opposite. Fall of Iranian regime would be very bad news for China. Did you even read the WaPo column posted above?

If China is already hurting and they are aware that the USA is short on munitions (Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, Venezuela), this is the perfect time for China to take its shot. It is now or never. Like Trump, I doubt Xi cares how many servicemen he loses in the process. And how can Trump decry China attacking a sovereign country when in a matter of months, Trump has bombed three countries, Nigeria, Venezuela, and Iran. And he is threatening of attacking two others, Canada and Greenland, while telling Ireland and Spain to ef' all he will take their bases and use them to attack Iran.

Yes, exactly, these folks are desperate to make this fools errand into something beneficial for the US.

Funnily enough, it’s just the opposite.

I’m opposed to the US strikes, but am frustrated that other opponents are fabricating bs reasons for opposition (China wins!), which are facially idiotic.

There are plenty of solid reasons to oppose US attacks; using crappy arguments instead makes opponents look like morons.

DP The Chinese’s struggling economy beats Trump’s and republicans’ economy all day long. Trump would love to have the Chinese economy. All the Chinese have to do is wait two weeks and the US will be out of all its munitions. Oh and republicans have done a similar purge of the military in the US. I guess you have not been paying attention.

Taiwan is in the Chinese zone of Interest. Republicans have said clearly the US has not interest in Asia because it is in the Chinese zone of interest.

I bet the Chinese will coordinate with North Korea. China takes Taiwan and North Korea takes South Korea. The US military could not handle two conflicts let a lone three. Not that Trump would commit US military for Taiwan or Korea. After that it would be a race between China and Russia to invade Japan. It’s not like Trump and republicans are going to lift a finger for Japan either.

You best believe that S Korea, Taiwan, and Japan have not been thinking the same thing.

Of course Putin benefits from rising oil prices. And now Trump is rolling back the sanctions. Such a loser.

lol.
Trump is demanding “unconditional surrender” from Iran. Trump is such a fool. He thinks he’s in a movie.

If you aren't at war with someone, how do they surrender? Conditionally or unconditionally? Only makes sense in MAGAland.

Perhaps you should address the substance of the arguments rather than dismiss the messenger. Convince me that the columnist is wrong, ‘cause it seems to be a fairly persuasive case.

China, on the other hand, can easily increase its imports from Russia to offset losses from places like Venezuela and Iran. There’s also no major transportation choke point—Russia already has oil pipelines to China, so it doesn’t depend on vulnerable sea routes. China is tired of winning.

Modi will get his oil from Russia. Have you forgotten about the meetup with Putin, Xi, and Modi in Moscow last year.

Trump has not taken out the drone factories in Iran because those supply Russia.

Ahh yes the narcissist who is now well in to his dementia-dreaming he's Al Capone. Too bad he wasn't dreaming he was a solid and good president. What a timeline we are in .

Here is the thing people do not understand about China. China has the biggest consumer market in the world. They are not dependent on the US. Only 8-10% of China’s trade is US dependent. They will be able to pick that up fairly easily because the US is imposing tariffs.

US collapse would lead to severe shock to Chin’s economy. Trade is only one factor—disrupting to energy markets, effect on global financial markets, US debt (of which China holds vast amounts), etc.

Moreover, how do Chinese consumers (who already save at high levels) react to economic uncertainty? They spend even less. There goes domestic demand.

Potentially catastrophic for the Chinese economy. We’re in a MAD destruction position with them, economically speaking.

Ha! I’m very, very far from being MAGA. Despise Trump and all his toadies.

But that doesn’t mean I support fantasists posting nonsense. Quite the opposite—I oppose idiocy in all its forms—whether it originates from MAGA or the extreme left.

She first asks if there will be boots on the ground. Then she asks if those boots will include Israelis. It's obvious the first question refers to Americans boots. Not hard to understand.

Everyone knows Israelis like to have Americans fight their wars like they did in Iraq.
