Seems pretty decent. at least they went to Jeff cup

And they lost..

you win games and lose games. The fact that they got accepted to Jeff cup is big. sounds like your DD/DS never been to one.

To add more info, 2014G is ranked 12 out of 24 regular season.

gotsport rankings are garbage and no one cares where U-little teams are ranked. They are supposed to be developing players not worrying about wins.
Yeah and with the league change this year you can’t really follow this and look top down, it’s meaningless. Schedules vary by teams. Some have cake springs. Also some teams pulling players down for wins against tougher opponents, we know who are….loudoun

People make this argument a lot, but winning can be a measure of development. A team consistently winning 7-0 as an example is usually indicative of one team having better development. I have never seen a club with great development lose a lot of games consistently. Maybe at the really young ages but not after age 10/11. At that point losses are def attributed to a lack of development or poor coaching.

If they aren't playing mostly even games then they aren't improving b/c they aren't playing the right competition.

Also those gotsport rankings posted above are accurate in terms of which teams are known to have good development.

Look everyone already knows who you are. You’re a bitter parent with a child on a lower team. You want to talk crap about other teams you think you know something about but you don’t in try to make yourself feel better and also to bring valor down. If you don’t like valor just leave and why bother even coming on a forum to talk crap about 10 year olds? And don’t say you are talking about lack of development because you saw how a team ranked on gotsport. Everyone knows scores don’t always reflect how a team played.

Bro is yappin. If you lose a lot of games you’re not skids. Bro is just mad he lost his rizz and is not sigma. Bro is taxing in Ohio and is still not fan-um.

Huh? This is a little unhinged. I was responding to the argument that winning means nothing. It’s sports, it does measure something (not everything but def something). Literally every sport will rank teams. And this is a pre Ecnl team we are talking about, not a rec team so when ppl are assessing a team, this is the one area they can look to where they can easily assess development at least at a high level. The other area they can look to is prior games with those teams or the personal experiences of players (harder to find out). Sometimes good players get trapped on not so great teams, but if they are happy then let it be and don’t be bothered. If you’re bothered, then you do care about the wins.

Not about valor but VPSL is garbage. They combined two south and north middle of the season and ranking the teams by unequal number of matches played. There is even a team that played no matches listed on there.

Looks like they are one of the worst teams in the area.

Any idea if they are posting the rest of the coaches soon? dc has an offer in hand with a 48 hour response deadline. We had hoped to know if current coach was returning (everyone hopes not) before we decided on the new offer.
Anonymous
48 hours to respond and they didn’t tell you who the coach is? What kind of method is that?

I read that as her kid just got an offer from ANOTHER club, and is currently on a Valor team. They don't want to stay on the Valor team if its the same crappy coach as this year, but might consider staying on Valor if the coach is going to better. Either way, there is no way Valor puts up the coaching slate this soon so my advice would be to take the offer if you like the new situation. Valor does often move coaches up with teams.
Anonymous
+1 take the new team offer. valor won't post their coaches for weeks still.
Anonymous
Even if your current, disliked coach isn't assigned to your dc's team next year, it sounds like there are only a handful of decent coaches in the whole Valor factory. What are the odds your kid will get one of the 3 (or whatever) good coaches vs. the 57 lame ones?

Presumably with your new offer, you know the coach's identity and she or he seems decent.
