Do you have a chicken rotisserie at home and do you love it?

I love Peruvian chicken, not a huge fan of oven chicken, and will start getting 2 whole chickens each month with our farm share. We're thinking of nixing our toaster oven and getting a rotisserie instead. If you have one, do you love it? Does it make delicious chicken? Do you use it for other things - like veggies, steaks, etc? Thanks!

I had one (George Foreman) and sold it on Craigslist (wedding present). To give some perspective, I cook a lot and have a lot of kitchen appliances but it was a waste of space. The chicken moved around on the spit so it didn't turn evenly and it was also a fire hazard when the skin hit the heating element. I would look at product reviews on Amazon.

My mom had one when I was growing up. She must have used it once every two weeks for just about everything. Chickens, pork loins, veggies, etc. it was really hard to keep clean and she ended up lining the inside of it with aluminum foil and changing it out after each use, but the glass would still get splattered. It also took up a lot of space on the counter. I don't think she uses it anymore but I remember it being cool to have. Be sure to get those heat resistance rubber gloves because the hardest part was getting the spits off the chicken after it was done roasting.

We had a ge oven as a kid with a built in rotisserie. Best thing ever. I had a toaster oven one that was a fire hazard. Maybe get a beer can roaster for the oven?
