Friend's daughter attacked on school bus--what to do?

My friend's daughter, who is at a MoCo middle school, was attacked on the school bus. She was beaten up by another girl, whose friends took pictures and video and posted them on Facebook, etc.

Whoever was supervising on the bus eventually pulled the attacker off but didn't do anything else. Victim was bleeding, has lots of bruises; parents filed a police report and took her to the doctor. Beyond emailing the principal tonight and going to see him first thing in the morning with the medical and police reports, what else should they do? Should they go to the superintendent? How is this sort of thing handled in MoCo?

They should continue to pursue this with the police. An assault is not something that should just be handled within MCPS.

Ouch. PP is snarky dcurbanmom poster ignore her. Your friend should be happy there are videos. I agree get copies of them however you can for your friend. She should definitely go to the superintendent and put everything in writing. If it was my DC I would demand an action plan ro keep my DC safe. Was this bullying? Were the others involved or did they feel unsafe too.

No one is going to give this OP copies of any videos. Don't be stupid. She's not entitled to them. She's not a party to the investigation. And she's way out of line. Why is she involving herself? we don't even know that her friend ASKED her to do this. This is so inappropriate.

If OP has access to any information that would get those bully bitches punished to the greatest extent possible, she should absolutely get involved. Those miserable little shits need to know that an entire community of adults are aware of their bullshit, and it will NOT be tolerated.
