Recently, birds have started pooping all over our car. We bought a plastic owl and hung it up in the rafters. Epic fail- I think the birds felt angry and emboldened, and clearly know it's fake because the pooping has gotten really bad. It's almost like they're not in rafters anymore, but are sitting on our car itself. And it's like it's no longer sparrows, but they've brought in the big guys, like giant wild turkeys or something ![]() Anyway, we knocked down the old nest they had up there (checked first to make sure there were no little occupants), but that didn't help either. What is our best bet? Try to string a net up so they can't sit there? Put spikes down? |

My grandma used to string together some aluminum pie pans and hang them up. Anytime the breeze came through, they made enough noise to send the birds flying. |

Ha, mine too! She also strung them up in the garden. |
Do they make batter operated owls that swivel their heads and make owl sounds? |
There is some goopy stuff you can put on top of the rafters that will repel the birds because it's too sticky to nest on. You'll have to get up there with a ladder to do it, though, or hire a handyperson to take care of it.

I've seen these used a lot in outdoor pavilions. https://www.birdbgone.com/plastic-bird-spikes-5-width-10-feet-clear.html?gclid=CLqg5_Tip9QCFVhXDQodTOQNwA |
